Production Harvesting Opportunity Attention Interested KZA Registered Community Members: The Band Office is currently accepting names for 2 harvesting teams. Work is to commence within the next two weeks. The site is located in the southern portion of Lot 13 & 14 on the Desert Front. Requirements:

Only identified trees, poplar, are to be harvested with minimal damage to standing trees. All trees MUST be topped before brought road side. The main objective of this harvest is to remove mature poplar while not damaging residual trees. Any team found damaging residual forest un-necessarily will be asked to stop and a new team will be brought in.

All teams must consist of a CSST certified tree feller, a skidder operator and skidder. One of the team must hold a valid CSST First Aid Certificate. The skidder (all equipment) must conform to all provincial safety and mechanical

regulations. All workers must provide and use at all times required safety equipment.

Rates: All employees must be on band payroll. All pay will be based on following ratio: 1/3 to Kitigan Zibi and 2/3 to harvesting team (salary) and equipment. All pay will be based on official weight scale sheets from mill. All required documentation must be submitted before contracts will be signed.

WINTER DRIVING Another winter season is upon us and once again it is time to remember that the roads are slippery. Please use caution when driving and remember to slow down. Plan for winter driving by installing four matching winter tires, install good windshield wipers, keep an emergency kit, check weather conditions, remove all snow from your vehicle, give yourself extra travel time, beware of black ice, slow down and wear your seatbelt. The KZA snowplows will being cleaning the main road sections first and secondary roads afterwards. Please use caution at all times for a safe and hazard free winter season.

POSITION: Community Health and Social Services Nurse Supervisor LOCATION: Kitigan Zibi Health and Social Services Health Centre WORK SCHEDULE: Normally Monday to Friday. May have varied working

Hours due to program, delivery and clinic hours and/or special events. 35 hours per week. Overtime as approved by the Service Director if required.

TERM: One Year Contract with the Possibility of Extension SALARY: Level 7. Range to be determined PREAMBLE: This position will begin January 2013(as soon as possible) in the Kitigan Zibi Health Sector. Under the supervision of the KZHSS Director, the Nurse Supervisor will assume various responsibilities such as planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and evaluating quality health services to members of the Kitigan Zibi community while respecting the vision, mission, values and general policies of Kitigan Zibi Health and Social Services (KZHSS) and Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg (KZA). The Nurse Supervisor will oversee all nursing components of KZA services including, but not limited to; the KZHSS clinic, Kiweda Group Home, Waseya House, Nicholas Stevens Centre, Home and Community Care, Kitigan Zibi School Nursing, KZA Emergency Preparedness, and special community projects when required. The KZHSS Nurse Supervisor actively collaborates in overseeing KZA health promotion and prevention programming according to identified health priorities for the community of Kitigan Zibi, as well as, provides clinical supervision for all KZA Nurses in all community health programs/services.

Overall, the Nurse Supervisor will undertake duties in health organization, assist in the human resources management, health promotion and prevention of activities and services for KZHSS. Community Health and Social Services Nurse Supervisor

Statement of Qualifications and Job Description Roles & Responsibilities:

1) Human Resources Management:

� Supervise the KZA nursing staff, allocate duties, oversee and evaluate the performance of the other KZA nurses and student nurses when required

� Assist in the recruitment, orientation and retention of KZHSS nurses � Organize and approve yearly personal and/or team developmental/training

plans to help safeguard the quality of nursing services and to ensure continuous development of nursing competencies.

� Prepare initiation/orientation activities/plans, supervise orientation of new nursing staff and provide on-going training

2) Health Organization:

� Provide nursing leadership according to Health Center mandate which entails community health services in prevention and promotion

� Continuously improve and review the delivery of clinical and client care in a safe and effective manner (Quality Assurance)

� Identify and analyze nursing needs and services relevant to the health of the community members and submit recommendations to Health Director

� Act as a resource for staff and community resources on issues relating to nursing services

� Develop and maintain partnerships with other Kitigan Zibi activity sectors such as education, police, social services, etc. ,as well as, provincial and federal organizations, private and non-profit organizations in order to achieve health outcomes for the community members

� Attend meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops as a representative of KZHSS upon request from the KZHSS Director

� Set standards of health care in Kitigan Zibi, assist to maintain optimal level of professionalism. Ensure the respect of laws, norms, Code of Ethics, collective prescriptions etc. governing the nursing profession. Manage health service complaints in collaboration with the Health Director.

� Develop Health Center nursing policies and procedures (confidentiality,

medical records safeguard, annual registration with the OIIQ, professional supervision requirements etc.) to ensure the quality of nursing services provided. Ensure laws are respected by nursing staff members,

� Ensure patient/client Therapeutic Nursing Plans are developed according to established standards, implemented and followed through while working directly with patients as required

� Collaborate with Health Canada to provide professional supervision within

the nursing scope of practice according to all provincial nursing governing legislations for all nursing health professionals under her/his supervision in order to maintain and improve competencies.

� Conduct a weekly, or daily when required, “de-briefing” meeting with

nursing staff to discuss client files, schedules, nursing procedures and policies, training, health programming activities, work plans, nursing issues, administrative procedures etc.

� Ensure accurate reporting of all nursing components of the Health Plan � Responsible for ensuring that adequate quantities of clinic and nursing

supplies are maintained and ordered when necessary

� Provide Health Director with statistical data and reports relevant to the Health Center to as required, report difficulties concerning nursing service delivery, propose and choose solutions in collaboration with Health Director and ensure implementation

3) Health Promotion and Prevention activities and services:

� Responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation of health promotion and prevention activities, assisting staff to develop project plans per activity, undertaking on-going process evaluation and document in writing, developing measuring tools for process and health impact indicators, ensuring follow-up for health programming plan, collecting data and preparing reports, encouraging and prioritizing work in interdisciplinary teams etc.

� Oversee and coordinate the design and implementation of the nursing components in KZA community public health programs, health promotion and prevention services as indicated in the overall KZA Health Plan

� Assist with the delivery of other KZHSS promotion and prevention programs and activities as required

Statement of Qualifications

� Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a University or Community College Diploma in Nursing with 3 years experience

� OIIQ License from the Province of Quebec in good standing, or proven eligibility to transfer license from another province

� Valid Driver’s License and ability to maintain throughout employment � Good knowledge of health planning � Strong motivational leadership skills � Organizational skills � Interpersonal skills � Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language.

French verbal and written would be an asset � Ability to work in teams � Management competencies � Capacity to analyze and make recommendations � Capacity to multitask � Ability to maintain healthy professionalism and respect for staff and

colleagues while still working in a stressful environment � Criminal record verification. Incumbent must not possess any criminal
