Two brothers from the Kirloskar family form a partnership

firm engaged in the assembly and sale of bicycles

The firm manufactures India‟s first iron plough in 1904,

followed by a number of firsts in agri-machinery such as

fodder cutter, sugarcane crusher etc.

Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) is incorporated in 1920 and

is the flagship company of the Group

Mysore Kirloskar Limited, a machine tool company is

hived out of KBL in 1940

Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, a diesel engine company is

hived out of KBL in 1946

Kirloskar Electric Company Limited, an electrical engineering

company, is hived out of KBL in 1946.

Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, an air-conditioning

and refrigeration company is hived out of KBL in 1958

Japan in 1997.

Executing the Bhima Lift irrigation scheme having single largest pump power
