TRENDS IN THE MARKET PLACE

With the slowdown in the mining and

resources based economy, the Perth

market has shifted gears again to a buyer’s

market. History shows that as soon as the Perth listing

stock exceeds 12,000, price reductions follow.

However there is no reason for sellers to panic.

Sellers have to do everything they can to attract

buyers, through good presentation, a good marketing

campaign and careful pricing at the beginning of the

campaign.

On the bright side, the rate cut will give home buyers

access to cheaper mortgages. This will give a saving

of $50 a month on a $300,000 mortgage. David

Airey of REIWA says, “This drop in interest rates,

along with falling petrol prices is a real boost to

household finances.”
