Camp Bays Mountain served the

District this summer by providing four

camps; two Camp-in-the-Community

sessions, a day camp and an Outdoor

Leadership Camp aimed at high school

students. Our goal was 87 campers,

however we were thrilled to serve 120

campers! It was a very successful

season to begin your new camp.

This September we will host a "Commissioning Service" at the new

camp to give our Districts a chance to come to the new site, take a tour, wor-

ship and pray over the new ministry. Look for details coming soon.

We are in need of these three things that perhaps your church might

provide:

1. A donated pick-up truck

2. Work teams who would come for ONE DAY for a demolition

project and landscape clean-up

3. Funds to purchase a commercial mower

Contact Jeff Wadley at 423-398-6272 for more information.

Open House Reflections:

Many people gathered across these two days

to join in dreaming with us by getting their

first looks at Camp Bays Mountain. The

weather was beautiful and many people

across the Kingsport and Johnson City

Districts enjoyed fellowship, walking tours, and dreaming as they moved about Camp

Bays Mountain. We had the opportunity to tour the new property and see the new po-

tentials that the Board has been working towards. We continue to dream about next

summer’s camp and all God is doing in our midst.

Just a reminder Camp is located at:

From exit 3 on I-26, go west

on Reservoir Road for just over a mile and turn right onto

Hood Road at Depews Chapel UMC. Look for the camp sign at 500 Hood Road. For more

information call 423-398-6272 or www.CampBaysMountain.com

South Sudan— Updates from Mandella that have been compiled across the past month: A lot of greetings to you from the children and thank you for your support, prayers, and care. All send their greeting to you, and all said God’s blessings and pro-tection upon you. This is a moment with the children together we are having a total reflection of what is go-ing on in our country and all of us were praying for peace and these children were shedding tears while praying for peace I tell you. It was so painful and touch-ing with all those words coming from these children just searching for peace. Their mothers also join us for the prayers and it's such a wonderful moment being with them despite our circumstance that befell

Current Status on 8/30/16 from Libby Dearing:

We have booked and paid for a flight with Eagle Air for the children and mamas for tomorrow. It will leave Yei at 9:00am (this is 2:00am your time). However, every time we think we have everything lined up, we encounter a problem. Ruba has been working since last week on this but we still need travel doc-uments for everyone, passport pictures, a letter from National Security office permitting the children to leave the country, and enough currency to get all this done. We have been unable to wire money to Yei and Ruba cannot get money out of the bank.

Please pray for all these situations. Any of you who have been to Africa know how slow things can move in spite of the urgency and pleas to expedite things. If we miss this window of opportunity I don’t know when or if we will be able to get the kids out. I trust God to do what is right in His greater plan.

I got to see most of the GRACE children day before yesterday and that was a joyous occasion. We took soccer balls and jump ropes and sweets - all big hits with the children.

I will keep you posted as often as I can. PLEASE keep the prayers lifted for Ruba, the children, and the mamas. Thanks so much.

offer hope and show God’s

love. The Oasis of Kingsport is

a day center, where all women

can find peace, safety, happiness

and empowerment in the midst

of trouble, difficult times, or in

desperate situations. Women

come where they are leaving

their shame, guilt, stigma, and

confusion at the door; to be re-

placed by love, hope, confidence

and faith. The Oasis provides

practical and individualized ser-

vices with compassion and with-

out judgment. Through our pro-

enhance the dignity of our

guests, encourage healthier

choices, and find their path to

self-sufficiency in a Christ cen-

tered way.
