It doesn’t matter whether you know

Welcome to King’s Careers & Employability

It’s what we do... Career Guidance appointments When you need career advice, just call King’s Careers &

Employability on the day you would like advice, and book a Career

Guidance appointment. This is a 20 minute appointment with a

Careers Consultant, for you to discuss anything from career

options to job applications.

Practice Interviews If you have an upcoming interview, we provide you with an

opportunity to practice for it, using the actual job description for

the vacancy.

Careers Resources Our careers library is stocked with resources from general

topics such as creating the perfect CV and cover letter, to

specific information like careers in pharmacy. Just come in any

time we’re open and have a browse!

Events King’s Careers & Employability host a

number of events each year, to allow you

to become proactive in building your

career.

King’s Careers & Employability dedicates entire weeks

to certain sectors, with events such as employer

presentations, employability talks and networking

sessions.

King’s Careers Fairs are your opportunity to meet top

employers in your sector. Find out about particular

recruitment processes, and get your name known within

organisations you might want to work for.

Niche events As well as these major events, King’s Careers

& Employability also run smaller events such

as talks from employers, How To sessions to

improve your CV and cover letters, and employer hosted webinars so you can

Internship Programme

If your degree offers an

internship module, you can

undertake an assessed

internship for academic

credit. Plenty of support

and guidance is available for

you to successfully find and

complete a quality

internship placement,

allowing you to gain

invaluable experience for

when you graduate.

Internships@King’s

The Internships@Kings

scheme offers students

from any discipline the

opportunity to apply

knowledge gained from

academic study into a

professional working

environment on campus.

Quality internships are

available in various

academic and central

departments, lasting up to

twelve months at any of

King’s’ five campuses.

STEP Internships Working for a small or

medium business, you will

be paid at least the

National Minimum Wage,

which is not subject to any

tax or National Insurance

contributions.

Your internship will last

between 8 and 26 weeks,

giving you plenty of time to

learn transferable skills,

as well as learning about

the sector.

To book an appointment at Strand

Campus, you will need to call us and

book on the day.

Career Guidance appointments are only

available Monday - Thursday.

Our Guy’s Campus office is drop-in only,

so just turn up during opening hours to

be seen.
