September 2011 Volume 10
New Series
Are You a Follower of Jesus? I know, I know, you’ve been asked this question before. Because it’s so familiar, there is a tendency to dismiss it. Not because it makes you uncomfortable. Not because it’s especially convicting. The question is dismissed mostly because it doesn’t seem necessary.
Yet, one of the most sobering passages of scripture tells of a day when many will be stunned to find out that He (Jesus) doesn’t even recognize them. In the Gospel of Luke, chapter 7, Jesus tells of a day where everyone who has ever lived will stand before God. On that day, many who call themselves Christians and identify themselves as followers will stand confidently in front of Jesus only to hear Him say, “I never knew you, depart from Me.”
If you just assumed you are a follower of Jesus, I pray that the next sermon series, Not a Fan, will either confirm that or it will convict you to re-evaluate your relationship with Jesus. Not a Fan begins Sunday September 18th, 2011.

Long to share God’s own heart and learn how to bring hope and healing to families who feel “left out” at church.
We’ll provide the training you need to be effective and comfortable in this ministry.
You provide the love!
KINGD OM KIDS
Adults send messages to kids all the Dme, especially by their behavior.
SomeDmes these messages demean their worth or diminish their hope.
But a volunteer who comes week aKer week to faithfully love and look at, smile
and listen to kids, sends messages through behavior too. Those messages say:
“You are important to me and to God. I choose to spend Dme with you.”
“Your opinions and feelings matter to me because who you are matters to God.”
“You are valuable, not someday, but now. You are not a problem to me.”
“You are a God’s giI. I am glad you are here!”
Where else in the world can a disheartened child find such affirmaDon? What
bePer way could a lonely child find the welcome, acceptance and love that is in
Christ? This is how God’s Kingdom comes to Children’s ministry week aKer
week, building life upon life. To become faithful givers of such cheerful loving
and paDent teaching, we weekly surrender ourselves to the love of God in Jesus
Christ. Only He empowers us to love unselfishly, consistently and genuinely.
This sends the message that what we do is truly from His heart. Then our
behavior will say that even without monetary compensaDon, without much
applause or appreciaDon, we choose to love children purely because we value
them for who they are, because we know Jesus loves them and because we
know eternity would not be complete without them.
Why we teach kids?
