Love 1

They had to colour their monster template and then took on the role of hair stylists / barber!

They took on their role very seriously as they snipped away the hair (long paper strips) of their monsters.

It was up to the children to decide what and how

they wanted to draw a face

within the space provided on a paper bag!


Once the faces were drawn, the children had to cut

vertical lines through the paper bag to create “hair” for the faces!

They determine the length, how fine and what hairdo they would like it to be!

b) Activity: Concept of 1/2, 1/3 & 1/4. Each given 3 pieces A4 sized papers and they had to fold and cut out

the three fractions accordingly (1/2 & 1/4 seems easy enough; 1/3 was a little challenging …)

Carissa had two toys that day and she decided to show us her squeazy-bounce-back walrus.

She learned the name of of the animal which she did not know previously.

The walrus was passed around and everyone could feel & touch & squeeze it … even Teacher had a go at it!

Such simple joy brought much delight and laughter to all ….

Love 2

Left to right:

Christy showed the class her plastic milkshake cup and some fruits, while telling them that she likes to make

different fruit juices with them.

Nathanael brought an aeroplane whose front opens the cockpit and rear opens to the luggage compartment.

Joshua’s hamster looks like it was running when he rolls his hamster wheel toy!

Maya told her friends that her brown wooden toy dolphin has a broken fin.

Love 1 & 2

Developing a sense of balance as they perform alternate jumps

(L1: open and close; L2: single leg hops and double legs jump) and jump over an obstacle.


Practising their aim…

And remembering to reset the area for the next person!

The Love 2 children also practiced their throw using a small spiky ball.

Joy

Developing balance and coordination as they perform consecutive single leg hops.


Aiming and throwing at a greater distance.

Peace

Developing hand-eye coordination, observation and estimation as they

throw a beanbag, track the beanbag thrown towards them, move their body and hands and attempt to catch it.

Aesthetics (Art & Craft)

Seaweed (Nori), sushi rice, sushi ingredients & that little dash with the mayonnaise

These were lovingly

prepared by Lao Shi for

the Love children to enjoy

cos we know how they love

sushi and can probably

manage to make only one

roll each for themselves …

Just one scoop of rice,

spread it out with the spoon

& a little mayo over it …


Aaargh…!

The easiest is with the ingredients ..…

then comes the challenge

of rolling into the sushi

some of us ended up with the rice on the

outside of the seaweed … but in sushi speak

it’s called URAMAKI …


And when all the sushi’s gone, the seaweed is great too!

It’s easier if I

spoon it all up !


Aesthetics (Music & Movement)

The Joy & Peace children were quick to catch on this nursery rhyme and its gameplay!

They weaved in and out the circle without difficulty

and managed to form a train according to the game play, as the song went on.

The Love 1 & 2 had a good time learning to understand the rules of the game with the help of the teachers!


Learning to keep their arms upwards to make arches…

Learning to weave in and out of the arches around the circle…

Learning to stop weaving and stand behind the nearest person

to tap on his/her shoulders when the song plays “Tippy-tippy tap-toe on my shoulder..”.
