Beginning Of The Year Behavior Expectations
1. Students have the ability to sit on the carpet quietly for at least 15 minutes.
2. Students should be able to tell the teacher when they need to use the restroom.
3. Students should have appropriate behavior and follow all classroom rules.
4. Students should be courteous to the teacher and the other students.
5. Students should be able to tie shoelaces.
6. Girls who wear skirts should wear shorts underneath so they can sit properly on the carpet.
Beginning Of The Year Academic Expectations
1. Students should be able to say their first and last names.
2. Students should be able to hold a pencil & begin to write their names.
3. Students should know the letters in their names.4. Students should have some knowledge of colors and
shapes.5. Students should have some practice counting from 1
to 10 and they should be familiar with the “new” alphabet song.
6. Students should have some knowledge of Concepts of Print: Title, picture, words, how to hold a book, know where the front cover and back cover of the book.

Nurse Notes
• Prepare an extra set of clothing to be kept in your child’s cubby in case of emergencies.
• Medicine forms- In the event your child needs medication administered at school, there is a specific form to be completed.
• Hearing and Vision Screenings during Kindergarten Screener
Classroom Placement
• Class Lists will be posted on Back To School Night
• During the 1st month of school your child may be placed with another kindergarten teacher due to enrollment numbers. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Next Steps• In August, kindergarten screening will occur.
At this time, you will have the opportunity to meet our kindergarten teachers. Also, our Nurse will be administering Vision and Hearing Screenings during kindergarten screening.
