News with Mrs. Holly, Mrs. Holliday and Miss Brandi October 14-18, 2013 A Peek At the Week… Sight Words: Review all sight words Letters: short a letter patterns- (ex. at, am, an) Math: Numbers and Counting Science Unit: Pumpkins Language: Asking and answering questions Homework Practice letters, sounds and sight words nightly. Read and record it on your reading log. This should be done nightly, if possible. Students earn stickers for every 5 books and rewards for every 25 books read at home. Math Sorting- Sort the candy provided, count each set then write the number with that color, then EAT it! Marlow’s Mission is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment that will enable our students to grow academically and socially. ` Treat Bags We do not have Halloween parties during the school day however, students will receive treat bags on Halloween. If you would like to donate items for our class’ treat bags please send it to school with your child by October 29 th . We currently have 20 students. Some ideas may include pencils, candy, erasers, trinkets, notepads, small individually wrapped snacks, etc. Dates to Remember: October 14- Report Cards Issued- Please sign and return ASAP October 17- Parent Teacher Conferences, Students released at 11:45 October 18-21 Fall Break October 22-25 Red Ribbon Week November 1 Pre-K and K Fall Fun Day November 11 Veteran’s Day/ No School This ‘N That •Please note conferences are scheduled for 15 minutes.
