Transportation Planning Services for the State of Tennessee Kimley-Horn Firm Overview Founded in 1967 by transportation engineers, Kimley-Horn has become well known for its expertise in transportation planning and traffic engineering. More than 50 years later—with 3,000 employees in 80+ offices nationwide—transportation planning remains a core practice area. Since the early 1970s, Kimley-Horn has provided transportation planning and traffic engineering services to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Our transportation planning services have expanded in Tennessee to include cities, counties, and MPOs from Memphis to Bristol on a wide variety of projects, including corridor studies, bicycle and pedestrian planning, public engagement/outreach, access management, modeling, and forecasting.
