this project was very broad: design a sustainable house. i decided on underground sustainability. this house has lots of windows for a great use of daylighting, solar pan-els on the roof which faces south, green appliances and finishes, and all which happen in the best sustainable feature, being underground.

this project was a two week long competition. the challenge was to provide a design for aids orphaned chil-dren in south africa. in this 2 week group project i contributed: the hand renderings, the parti sketches, the rough sketches, the concept of the space. as a group i helped. to contribute to the space planning, finishes, and use of space.

hard hype advertizing officehard hype is an advertizing agency for the

gaming industry. it needs a space that al-lows each employee to do his/her own

work then get together in a small group and collaborate. the con-

cept is ameba. the ameba has few but vital parts

that work together to keep the

organism alive.

university has a rv that tours

around north carolina that needs remodeling. it promotes its

enology and viticulture program. the rv acts as an information center or museum.

my partner and i wanted to make sure the rv revives the knowledge of wine, uses recycled materials while also

teaching those entering how to recycle using wine products, and we also wanted to get a reaction from people entering the space by

providing them with enology facts that they can get excited about learning.

nkba kitchen and bath competition

the nkba competition requires that all codes and ada requirements be applied to design. the couple who’s kitchen and bath i designed wanted a traditional federal style with lots of specific need tied in without looking cluttered. this compact kitchen provides over 30 culinary needs: baking center, refrig-erator, wall ovens, closet for pet’s needs, desk space for paying bills, t.v., mixer lift-up, microwave oven drawer, refrigerator drawers, private and group seating, etc. the bathroom also allows for super storage in a compact space.

conceptual restarauntdalga is a conceptual resturaunt. it is designed for an old building that used to be a factory office in turkey. dalga means ‘wave’ in turkish. the exterior seating represents a fish being pulled out of water. when entering the building the experience changes to submerging under water to see what the fish sees. from floor to ceiling the atmosphere and finishes reflect sealife. those who dine in the space act as schools of fish moving through the space.
