On behalf of Promoting Kilwinning I would like to welcome you to thissouvenir guide to our annual Segdoune Royal Carnival. In preparing for thisevent we reflect the tremendous event we had last year, with over 8,000people on the street during the day, Kilwinning was definitely the place to bethat day, with great entertainment and plenty to keep all ages amused.
We aim to have as good an entertainment portfolio for you again, butrealistically, we realise that we will never see the like again… as I don’t thinkI will see Royalty again celebrating 60 years on the throne!
The Town is the first to Launch in North Ayrshire with a unique project"Keep Kilwinning Tidy". This joint working between Promoting Kilwinning,North Ayrshire Council, Councillors, Zero waste Scotland and KilwinningAcademy, is about Kilwinning taking a pride in itself and asking locals to sharethat pride. Promoting Kilwinning organises two clean-ups a year plus localsadopting a spot… if you feel you can help please let us know.
Our events are starting to suffer, basically due to a lack of volunteers to takeour events forward or simply helping out on the day, so please do considerhelping - especially as we are bidding to have Kilwinning on the route of theCommonwealth relay in 2014.
Thank you to all our supporters and Royal family both past and elect forrepresenting Kilwinning so well. I hope you enjoy the Crowning and Carnival.
With Best RegardsDonald Reidfor Promoting Kilwinning.
