Reminder

Principal Sue Britton Only at Killarney Vale-

Only at Killarney Vale would everyone be able to keep such a HUGE secret! Thank you everyone, I had a fabulous High Tea last Thursday. I was so surprised to see everyone in their formal finery sharing afternoon tea and making a memory for me for the rest of my life. This is truly a blessed little spot.

As we draw to the end of what has turned out to be the busiest year so far I would like to personally thank all the people who contributed so generously to making the last 6 years of my career so wonderful. It has been my privilege to work at Killarney Vale Public school, but, most of all, it has been my absolute joy. We are an amazing family! I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year as everyone continues to fly with the new Principal Mr Jonathon Moxon.

Jonathon comes to us from a Deputy Principal role at Blue Haven Public School. He has also been at Tuggerawong as Relieving Principal. He is really excited about coming to our school and I know you will all give him the same warm and generous welcome you gave me. I know I will soon be hearing that Killarney Vale is the best school in New South Wales.

Year 6 Farewell

What a lovely night last Thursday. Every child looked lovely and none were dressed beyond their age. Further, when I looked at the hall after they had left I was so proud to see a spotless hall. Staff told me they were the best group they had catered for so far. Of course, we ARE the best on the Central Coast!

Christmas Concert

Another wonderful concert ran last Friday and all of our children performed beautifully. It is always a joyous event and marks the beginning of the Christmas events at Killarney Vale.

Party Day

Thanks to all who helped make the end of year memorable for our students! We all had a great day.

Excursions and Red Faces

We held excursions to the movies and Mingara over the last few days and these were fabulous fun. Again we were commended on the splendid behaviour of our wonderful students. Our kids are perfect to the end.

Finally, this afternoons Red Faces was outstanding. A huge thanks to Mrs Reid for her great organisation of such a big event so late in the year.

As we come to the Christmas holidays I again request that you keep an eye on our special spot. Our children work hard, our parents fundraise like mad and our staff put a lot of their own money into their classes, none of us need to repair anything! Our children deserve the very best school we can provide. Wyong police are on 43566099, School Security is 1300880021 or fastest way of all is just 000. Thanks in anticipation.

Text Books and Book Packs

For your convenience, we have attached the order form for book packs for 2014. People who pay for their book pack now will be able to access Mathletics for the next 5 weeks for free. We will be holding a book pack sale day on 22nd January 10.30am to 12.30pm, the same day in the holidays as the uniform shop.

Classes for 2014

Classes are more or less set for 2014 and due to numbers there may be composites that affect your children’s grades. These can cause concern but should not. As you know every child is different, and the staff at Killarney Vale cater for every child and their needs. This means every class has varying abilities in it – even if they are all the same age.

For those who have had interviews, I will ring on or before Friday and let you know the results.

Last Day – 18th Dec. This is the last day for students but staff will be at school for the next two days doing Professional Development.

A Message to the KVPS Community

As the 2013 school year comes to a close I would like to take this opportunity, to thank the KVPS Community for helping to create some wonderful memories that I

take with me, into my retirement from full-time teaching.

Over the last 13 years I have made many lifelong friends through the children and families I have taught in the classroom, through coaches and parents supporting

their children on sidelines or parents and relatives sewing, transporting and being part of audiences at Dance Festivals and School Concerts. I thank you for this as I

know your children appreciate being given these opportunities. A big thank you also, to your brilliant P&C who do tireless work to make the job so much easier in

and outside the classroom.

I would like to extend my best wishes to you and your families over the holiday season, for a very happy and safe Christmas and may the 2014 New Year bring

you many exciting new adventures.
