IN RELATION TO THE MAKING OF A SCHEME UNDER SECTION 47.___

KILDARE COUNTY COUNCILM7 NAAS - NEWBRIDGE BYPASS UPGRADE

MOTORWAY SCHEME 2013____

This scheme is being undertaken by Kildare County Council on its own behalf and on behalf of Naas Town Council under an agreement made pursuant to Section 85 of the Local Government Act 2001 as amended, and as approved by the National Roads Authority under Section 14(8) of the Roads Act 1993, as amended.

1. Kildare County Council (“the road authority”) under Section 47 of the Roads Act 1993, as amended, has made the M7 Naas - Newbridge Bypass Upgrade Motorway Scheme 2013 which it proposes to submit to An Bord Pleanála for approval. The scheme relates to the proposed provision of a third lane on the motorway from M7 Naas North (Junction 9) to M7/M9 Merge (Junction 11), provision of a new interchange arrangement at M7 Naas South / Newhall (Junction 10) and associated ancillary works as illustrated in the map below.

2. A copy of the scheme and the map referred to in it may be inspected at the following locations: Kildare County Council, Kildare County Council National Roads Office, Áras Chill Dara, Level 2, Block B, Devoy Park, Maudlins, Naas, Naas, Co. Kildare. Co. Kildare.

Between the hours of 9.30am and 1.00pm and between the hours of 2.00pm and 5.00pm on working days between Tuesday 7 January 2014 and Friday 21 February 2014.

3. Written objections in relation to the scheme may be made to An Bord Pleanála (Strategic Infrastructure Division), 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1, during the inspection period stated above.A person may question the validity of a decision of An Bord Pleanála by way of application for judicial review under Order 84 of the Rules of the Superior Courts (S.I. No. 15 of 1986) and practical information on the review mechanism can be found on www.citizensinformation.ie<http://www.citizensinformation.ie>

IN RELATION TO AN APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF A PROPOSED ROAD DEVELOPMENT AND THE SUBMISSION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT.

This scheme is being undertaken by Kildare County Council on its own behalf and on behalf of Naas Town Council under an agreement made pursuant to Section 85 of the Local Government Act 2001, as amended, and as approved by the National Roads Authority under Section 14(8) of the Roads Act 1993, as amended.1. Kildare County Council (‘the road authority’) has applied under Section 51(2) of the Roads Act 1993 (as amended by Section 9(1)(e)(i) of the Roads Act 2007) to An Bord Pleanála (‘the Board’) for approval in relation to the proposed road development consisting of:

• Provision of a third lane from M7 Naas North (Junction 9) to M7/M9 Merge (Junction 11);• Provision of a new interchange arrangement at M7 Naas South/Newhall (Junction 10);• Extinguishment of existing public rights of way;• Closing up of direct accesses from the public road;• Associated ancillary works.

as illustrated in the map above and has submitted to the Board the Environmental Impact Statement prepared in accordance with section 50 of the Roads Act 1993 (as amended bysection 9 (1)(d) of the Roads Act 2007) in respect of the proposed road development. 2. A copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be inspected at: Kildare County Council, Kildare County Council National Roads Office, Áras Chill Dara, Level 2, Block B, Devoy Park, Maudlins, Naas, Naas, Co. The Board may, in relation to an application for approval under section 51 of the Roads Act 1993 as amended, by order, approve the proposed road development with or without modifications or it may refuse such development. 5. Submissions may be made in writing to An Bord Pleanála (Strategic Infrastructure Division), 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1 in relation to the likely effects on the environment of the proposed road development between Tuesday 7 January 2014 and Friday 21 February 2014. Please note that as and from 10 December 2007 An Bord Pleanála require that a fee of €50 must accompany any such written submission to An Bord Pleanála. Please check with An Bord Pleanála.6.
