Newsletter – November 2013

Welcome to the latest edition of the KidZone Newsletter

What is KidZone? KidZone is the name of the children’s work for 5 to 11 year olds run by Church in the Peak (Matlock). KidZone’s aim is to help your child grow into and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. KidZone leaders are there to support the work that you are doing with your child and to make church an exciting place that your child wants to come to.

Pizza and Movie Night Feedback In April, KidZone held a “Make your own pizza and watch a movie” night. About 30 kids came, made pizzas (with an astonishing range of toppings!) and watch-ed Wallace and Gromit. Many KidZone kids brought their friends along.

Contact Sheets It is important for us to have up-to-date records of the children in our care. Earlier in the term, we handed out “Contact Sheets” to all the kids. If you haven’t completed the form yet please can you do so and hand it to Chris or Harriet. And if you haven’t been given a form yet, please ask Chris or Harriet for one.

Armour of God Series This term, we have been focussing on the Armour of God outlined in Ephesians 6. Here’s everyone wearing their shoes of the Gospel of Peace.

After Christmas, we will be starting a new series looking at the life of Peter.

Care of County Hall Please remember that after KidZone has finished, the responsibility for looking after the children returns to their parents. Please could parents also be mindful of what their children are doing after the service. Please be aware that the grounds of County Hall include grassy areas, car parks and at least one pond. None of these areas are supervised and all are open to the public. We all need to do our bit to take care of County Hall.

Fire Alarms Should the fire alarm sound while the kids are in KidZone, the KidZone leaders will ensure that all the kids leave the building and gather at the relevant Assemly Point. [For County Hall, this is usually the main Car Park.] Parents should collect their kids from the KidZone leaders. Kids will not be allowed to wander off and go looking for their parents.

Would you like to help us? If you would like to be involved in KidZone, we’d love to hear from you. We would really benefit from having extra leaders / helpers on the rota. Full training will be given and a DBS check (previously known as a CRB check) will be required. [You don’t need to be a teacher!] If you’re interested, please get in touch with Chris or Harriet (details below).

And please pray for us all Please join with us in praying for the kids (and the leaders) to grow in their walk with Jesus… …and for the leaders to continue to be inspired, week by week. :o)
