Dear Readers,

What a blessing it is to write and publish this magazine for you and your family. We believe that your family is blessed by all its content. This issue is filled with many fun Spring ideas. We want you and your family to experience many blessed things this Spring, especially as you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Telling your children about the resur-rection may seem like a difficult thing. It may be hard for you to imagine your children understanding its concepts. But just remember, the Bible tells us that it is the Lord who brings revelation to His word and His power. As you trust in His ability to bring revelation to your children while you tell them about His glorious resurrection, you can know that your children will understand by His doing and His work. They will be touched in their lives by His Spirit as you tell them about His wonder-filled message of Jesus and how He rose from the dead for us all.

Take a helium balloon and tell your children that just as this balloon rises to the ceiling, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be raised by His power for us. Tell them He died on a cross and took away our sins and was raised from the dead to live forever for us all. Tell them that because He was raised up like this balloon, God raises us up everyday of our lives to receive all His glory, His love, His joy, His peace, His blessing and all that He has promised to us. Tell them, “We have His resurrection balloon raising power working in us everyday!”

As you tell your children these things their hearts will be captured by the Holy Spirit and they will understand more than you could ever imagine. Don't underestimate the power of God and your children's powerful under-standing and revelation of what you have told them, even if they don't talk about it. Just remember, pray with them to receive the risen Jesus in their hearts and tell them His Spirit will come and live in them and bless them everyday of their lives.

Celebrate this Spring with His resurrection power and without question, your kids will be blessed abundantly!

Have faith in His word,

I need a‘Maranatha Moment’!!There's Christian music you can find being played on the "Worship Channel", "Daystar", as well as others during those late night hours. You know, those are the times when everyone is supposed to be asleep and resting so the sta-tions play them in the early morning just in case someone gets up and needs to go back to sleep. Well, I have found myself lately declaring to the Lord that, "I need a Maranatha Moment!"

One of those worship songs He brought back to me was a song that goes like this;

"In moments like these, I sing out a song, I sing out a love song to Jesus,In moments like these, I lift up my hands, I lift up my hands to You Lord.Singing, I love You Lord, I love You Lord, I love You Lord, I love You..."

At that early morning moment for me, the day had passed from morning to noon, noon to eve-ning, evening to late night, late night to early morning, from early morning to sunrise, and... I was still up and it seemed the day was going on and on like the Energizer Battery bunny. How it seemed to just, "Keep going and going, and go-ing, and going" until, in that "Maranatha Mo-ment" I heard those words coupled by the sound of instruments that quietly floated from my television set straight to my spirit. At that moment I felt refreshed and touched by the Lord and that it was just like it says in Lamentations 3:22-23 how, "His mercies are new every morn-ing!"

"It is of the Lord's mercy that we are not con-sumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithful-ness." Lamentations 3:22-23

KidWise 7

Page 7: KidWise Magazine - Spring 2008

The mercy of God is a powerful thing and it is evident in our lives that we all need His mercy. Psalm 85:9 tells us, "Mercy and truth are meet together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." So, what exactly does that mean?

Psalm 85 and all its verses, 1-13, tells us about God's mercy working on our behalf.

"Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou has covered their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thy-self from the fierceness of thine anger. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? Wilt thou not 'revive' us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation." Psalm 85:1-7

Here we find that the Lord shows us favor in His mercy and He has set us free from all captivity and brought us salvation because of His mercy. He has forgiven us and given us a fresh start. We find that the Lord is not angry with us be-cause of His mercy and that being "REVIVED" causes us to rejoice and experience His great mercy afresh and anew! In that "Maranatha Moment" I ran smack into mercy and in a twin-kling of an eye, in that 'moment' I felt revived...

Psalm 85 goes on in verses 8-9 and says;"I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him; that glory may dwell in our land."

In those "Maranatha Moments" we will find God speaking. We will find where He speaks, “peace" comes. That peace speaks and brings a flow of emotional experience as He touches us with His 'calm'. We can't forget that peace also means that there is, "nothing missing and nothing broken in our lives." It means 'shalom'. As we experience His mercy, His peace comes and salvation brings "nothing missing and noth-ing broken". In that "moment" we find His “sud-denly” that brings His glory into our lives! Now, that's when,

"Mercy and truth are met together", and where, "righteousness and peace have kissed each other." God's righteousness has come to us in His mercy; it has come to us in His truth and "peace" is ours.

Are you in need of a "Maranatha Moment" too? That's the "moment" I felt His presence and He spoke to me with a touch of His hand and a whisper of His voice and "In moments like these I sing out a love song to Jesus!" It's a "moment" when Heaven touches you in spite of what you are doing, what your attitude may be, or what you have done, or what your kids have done, and what has happened 'all day' long. He has touched you through His being your Truth, your Peace, He has touched you through His mercy.

"Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Righteousness shall go before Him; and shall set us in the way of His steps." Psalm 85:12-13

A "moment" in the midst of dirty dishes, dirty diapers, a dirty house, kids and noise, errands and no time where you can say to your friends, "Oh yes, I spent time in the word today..." Your attitudes pulsating with doubt, flesh, carnality and thoughts that go on and on trying to say to you, "This just isn't fair, things should be differ-ent, what's wrong with me?" And then there is a sound, a sound from Heaven riding on the wor-ship of music, on the wings of His song; music that ushers your attention to Him and off your circumstances and you experience "A Moment of Mercy", only to find that His mercy is new every morning and lasts for an eternity and car-ries us moment after moment after moment. He gives us all that is good...

Then we find we are reminded that it's not by works within ourselves, it's by His burden re-moving, yoke destroying anointing that makes His righteousness come before Him as He sets us in the way of His steps and... this is where we find 'great' increase! Through the touch of mercy. Stop for a "moment", pause, and worship the Lord for being so good, say "I love You, Lord" and in His "suddenly" you will find His "Moment of Mercy" filled with great 'peace' come to you as He speaks to you in your very own, "Maranatha Moment".

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)

I was reflecting on the scripture, Hebrews 13:5 today. Have you ever thought about what it means? It talks about your conversation being without coveting. This I would suppose, means without desiring something someone else has. It goes on to tell that we are to be content with what we have because Jesus has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." That seems to be an interesting connection that is worth meditating on.

I can see how the two relate. It is saying that our conversation is to be without covetousness in that the Lord takes care of all our needs. It does seem odd, if we don't reflect on how they relate, that these two points are in a scripture that would connect them together. "No coveting" because He will never leave us? How does that compute?

One thing the Lord is saying as the main point is how He provides for us and brings us all we need in any area of our lives and that "He will never leave us" 'without'. Therefore, there is no need to covet or make conversation of 'need' in light of what oth-ers have and what 'we do not have' in our own eyes. He does not want us to compare His provision or 'lack' of provision, based on our own understanding, through covetousness. Covetousness is lack think-ing through jealousy. We are to rejoice in the bless-ing and harvest others have received as we keep our eyes on Him to provide and supply our harvest and blessing, too. All things we have been blessed with come through Him and His goodness. We just need to continue to sow seed and live a life that is an out-pouring of His goodness to others and openly receive His goodness for ourselves.

The Lord is making it very clear that He will never leave us in any area that we may feel 'lack'. I would

think that someone covets because they feel lack and feel they are without something. It seems through this scripture, that the Lord is making it clear that "He is the supplier" and that we need to resist lack. We need to resist the feeling of lack, the view of lack and the thoughts of lack. He does not want us talking or confessing lack with a conversa-tion of covetousness! If we covet, we are not look-ing to Him as our supply. It is as if we are saying that He has left us, and has forsaken us and is not with us to supply and care for every area, especially the area in which we are coveting. We need to realize that He is with us to supply and produce everything we need; everything we desire. He promises to give us the desires of our heart. What do we have to lose, or be without?

He will never leave us! We will never be "without"! I think this verse is speaking something powerful and the Lord wants us to know that, "We are never with-out because we are never without Him!" In that we have contentment!

Prayer and confession based on Hebrews 13:5:"Lord, I thank You that You will never leave us. You will never leave my kids, You will never leave my family, and You will never leave me without. You are the complete provision in every area of our lives and in You we find contentment in all things. You also give me and my kids, and my family the desires of our hearts through Your provision. Thank you Lord for Your provision in all things for us. Thank You Lord for providing for us in every area. I ask You Lord to put a guard over my mouth that I will not speak out of "lack", or speak out of what it appears that we do not have in light of others. You are our provision and You have met all our needs by Your riches in glory! Thank you for meet-ing my family's needs, our ministry needs and for filling our lives with Your provision and blessing. In Jesusʼ Name, AMEN!"

Now that we are facing Daylight Savings Time we thought this issue we could give you some toddler sleeping tips. As Daylight Savings Time comes around the corner, the days get longer, it stays light longer, and your days can continue to go on later into the evenings. This can interrupt a regular bed-time schedule quickly.

Most people say a strict bedtime schedule that is consistent is what works. We have found with multi-ples this is very difficult, sometimes nearly impossible. You can never predict how any of them is go-ing to react to certain things and they always seem to come up with something new. Daylight Savings Time for our toddlers means more time to play. That reflects longer playing periods and more winding down needed before bed. Here are some tips we have found helpful.

KidWise 11

b e d t i m ewith multiples

1. Keeping your bedtime schedule simple and not 'strict' is important. For some having the ex-act bedtime hour is difficult. Just set yourselves up with a special bedtime wind down plan that you do prior to bedtime nightly. Instead of striving for the same time everyday, design the same 'wind down plan' everyday. This will help you get your children to bed when they need to without a struggle. Eve-ryday can be different. No naps or long naps. Times can change and we can adjust easily. Remember, your toddler doesn't tell time. He or she isn't going to come up to you and say, "Hey, it's 9PM and it’s time for me to go to bed." Their little bodies tell you when they are ready and when they are getting sleepy. Ask any mom, they know when their kids need a nap. As you see your child needing to go to bed, begin to implement your 'wind down' time. This time could include sitting with you on the coach re-laxing together, or reading a book, talking about the day and your plans for tomorrow, taking a bath, watching a 'calm' video that has a Christian mes-

sage, eating a piece of toast, drinking some milk while you sit together. Brush their teeth and get them in their pajamas and 'wind down'. This is something that you can establish as time quality time together each evening prior to bed and will send the message to your child, "It's getting close to bedtime".

2. Establish a set routine for going to bed. Take them to bed (even as a baby 6 months or more) and turn off the lights and pray together. Do a praise song, as simple as “Jesus Loves Me” and sit together in the darkened room and pray. Tell your child a scripture for the day and have them repeat it to memorize it just before getting into bed. Hug them, kiss them, tuck them in, tell them you love them and after they lay their head down on the pil-low have them say the scripture word for word after you. This will help them go to sleep with the word of God before them and prayer behind them.

Page 11: KidWise Magazine - Spring 2008

3. Once you get ready to leave the room, tell them how special they are and turn on some Christian children’s music. Turn it down low and play the same tape every night. You will find that if you go for a drive or go away somewhere when you play this CD when they are sleepy it will help them fall asleep away from their beds. This will be an added feature that your wind down times and bed-time routine will be for you. This music helps them and ministers to them at the same time.

4. If your children have difficulty falling asleep after this, go into their room and tell them they have to stay in bed but, you will give them some books to read. One of their favorite things to give them would be a Bible. This will enforce more than just bedtime. Teach them to read their Bibles just before bed! There are board book Bibles that you can leave for those toddlers not to tear up. We have put a Bible and 5 or 6 other books at the foot of

their bed and this sends the message, if you can't sleep right now, you can read your Bible, look at your books and get sleepy. A light on from their closet, hallway, bathroom, etc. will give them the light they need to read. As you do these things your children will have that 'wind down time' and that es-tablished routine that will help them go to bed. They can play up through those Daylight Savings Times and be ready because of the bed routine. You can be away and take the time to work some of the rou-tine and it will send the message, 'It's bedtime!' Your children will appreciate the time and the rou-tine. They will enjoy going to bed and experience all that the Bible promises in Psalm 4, verse 8...

"In peace I will both lie down and sleep;  for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."

Most people associate 'planting flowers' and 'Spring cleaning' with this time of year. Although it will take a little [more!] effort, you CAN achieve these tasks while spending time with your little ones. Here are some of our ideas for your toddlers this Spring:

While Planting - You CAN have fun while including your little one in planting those beautiful spring flowers.

First, we suggest having two adults. Invite a friend or other family member over and make it fun! Having the ex-tra hands to help with handing you tools, the water pail, or potting soil will make an amazing difference while you have your toddler outside with you. And having an extra eye-out while in the yard is always reassuring.

Second, dress for mess! If you and your little one are wearing clothes that you don't MIND getting messy it will be a lot less stressful and a LOT more fun. You won't be distracted with thinking about getting the stains out while your little one is digging in the dirt!

Third, allow your little one to actually help by handing you flowers, digging holes in the ground, and even plac-ing the flower in the ground and covering it. Be creative and think of things you know your little one will enjoy.

Even though these jobs may seem small, your toddler will have a blast 'helping' and feel like heʼs achieving so much with you. They will be so proud that they helped and you'll love that you spent time together.

KICKS Tots

While Cleaning - We all know that you must keep cleaning supplies out of the reach of children, but there are other things your little ones can do to help that exclude the supplies. Let them follow you around the house doing some of these things. They will feel like such big stuff, being such a big helper!

First, get a damp sponge or rag (an old cut-up towel works) and allow your little one to wipe off the hard sur-faces. Sure, you'll probably have to go back over it (be-cause they probably won't get all the dust off), but they will still love helping.

Second, give them a feather duster. This is harmless for just about anything in the house, and your toddler will LOVE using this to help out. Allow them to go through the rooms with you and "dust" everything in sight! This really WILL help get things cleaned faster.

Third, find a mini-broom at your local hardware or de-partment store. You'll probably have to go or finish after your little one has helped, but it is a great way to work to-gether and help them feel like they're achieving this clean-ing task WITH you.

All of this is also a great way to train them to be a helper and complete the task of chores. They'll learn that it can be FUN to complete a job theyʼre given to do.

We hope that as you try these things with your toddler, you can all have fun experienc-ing the joy of being together as you learn and grow in all that God has for you.

Have you ever wondered how to overcome that flesh of yours? When I talk to my kids after they have thrown a fit, gotten angry and hit each other, stomped their feet, shouted 'no' when we ask them to do something they don't want to do, I can clearly see the definition of 'flesh' in man. All five of my kids (who are all under the age of 5) have that flesh 'nature' the Bible talks about. You know, it's that nature in them that wants to feed yours?

Have you ever felt like everything was going so well until your kids start fighting? I'm writing a book right now called, Help, How Do I Stay Spiritual With Toddlers? I think that fits for all adults staying spiritual with kids of all ages. So often you wonder, "How in the world am I going to focus on the SPIRIT?" That is the question. How "in this world" do we stay focused and stay in the 'Spirit' and out of the flesh? After all, isn't it Romans 8:1-2 that tells us that if we are walking in the flesh we are walking accord-ing to a law that judges and condemns? The Bible calls it the 'law of sin and death'.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2

If you go on, you see according to God's word that the flesh is weak to fulfill the law. That can explain a lot about your kids. Most of the time when you tell them they have to do something you can see that they more often don't fulfill your wants, no mat-ter how hard they try and how good their intentions are. When my middle son was three, he promised me one day that if we went to a friends house he wouldn't throw a fit when we had to leave. We talked about it and boy, he was very sincere. But, the

moment we had to leave all sincerety was lost. His flesh took over.

Romans 1:3-4 tells us, "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

There it is again, "for those who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit". How do we teach our children to walk not after the flesh? Especially when we’re still trying to figure that one out for ourselves? After all, Romans 8:7 says that the flesh refuses to be subject to God's ways and that it is also in 'strife' with God to the point of, "...then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." as stated in Romans 8:8.

Here is a huge key. If those who are in the flesh can't please God, we must learn from the scriptures that tell us what we can do to please God. There are two things I would like to bring out.

One: "The Way of Faith""And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he re-wards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 11:6

The Bible clearly says that without faith it is impossible to please God. That means if we are not in faith then we must be walking in the way of the 'flesh'. Leaning on your own understanding can define that. When someone isn't walking by faith they are leaning on what they know and putting their trust in something other than what God has said. To lean on God takes you putting on the 'mind of Christ'. That defines the Anointing and the Anointed One

KidWise 15

OvercomingFlesh

Page 15: KidWise Magazine - Spring 2008

who removes every burden and destroys every yoke trying to hold us down. It means to put your mind on His word and what He says. To set our minds on things of above. To set our minds on what James 3 says is Godly wisdom from above. That wis-dom is not filled with self-seeking and envy. As it says in Romans 8:5-7:"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."

That day, my son could not get beyond what he wanted, how he understood it, or what he saw. We are the same way. We need to get beyond what we think in our own point-of-view and see it from a better perspective, God's. He's above and not beneath and promises that we are the same in Him. That means we can see and believe things differently from what is seen in that 'natu-rally flesh' realm.

So, let's get out of own thinking and set our minds, sights, and emotions on God's way of doing things. As you do this, you will be able to train your children to do the same. They can be taught when that 'nature' rises to the surface that God has a better way and He tells us that way in His word. Begin by telling them His word. Begin by telling yourself His word and knowing that any-thing else will separate you from the "law of the Spirit of Life".

Second: "The Way of Power"As we realize that we are to walk by faith we can come to under-stand one of the first places to begin is with what God tells us about our flesh and believe in His overcoming power in our lives over it. He tells us in Romans 8:9:"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead be-cause of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Our children are not in debt to the flesh or that 'natural' nature of fallen man. We can stand that they are 'quickened by God's Spirit' who is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Our kids have already overcome in the victory of Christ.

They don't owe their flesh anything. Romans 8:12- "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

Your flesh will suffer. This is that time when your children are sobbing because they didn't get their way. They are trying to get you to change your mind on a decision you've made in their best interest. This is where the suffering comes in clear down to the bone of your feelings, emotions, thoughts and desires. Suffering because of the flesh.

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not wor-thy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the mani-festation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be deliv-ered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."

Here it also tells us that if you go the way of the flesh you are putting yourself and your life under the rule of vanity. If you don't deal with your children's flesh by teaching them that it is not God's way therefore it is not to be their way, and if you neglect to teach them that God has given them power over flesh by over-coming it for them, you will find that they will be subject to vanity, self, and selfishness.

Third: "The Way of Love"Faith works through love. God's love in us working on our behalf. God's love in us has overcome the flesh and the works of the enemy. He has given us overcoming victory through His love. That love is a power source called the anointing. It is the power to remove anything that has or ever will try to separate you from all that God has for you and your kids. All that God has for your kids is theirs and nothing can separate them from it as you be-lieve for them, teach them and pray for them. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 defines some of this love that God is talking about that is Spirit which pleases Him, He tells us,"...first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiv-ing be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."

This tells us that part of walking in the Spirit is prayer, and prayer for everyone, leaders and, including OUR CHILDREN. This promises us peace and quiet, godliness and holiness. These things please God because He wants all to experience His truth and knowledge and peace.

We need to teach our children, and even learn ourselves, that God helps us in our 'weakness of flesh'. The Bible calls this weakness, 'infirmities'. It tells us the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead helps us with our flesh by standing for us with prayer.

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to

KidWise 16

Page 16: KidWise Magazine - Spring 2008

the will of God." Romans 8:26-27

God has put His love into motion on our behalf. Through Jesus Christ He has put to death flesh and ruined it once and for all. He is now working on our behalf and on behalf of our children. All the things of God are at work for our good. His blood, His word, His power, His faith, His love and more. It is all these things that the Bible is talking about here in this scripture.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

God's love and power is at work for our families. God's love is persuasive. The Bible makes it clear to us that if God didn't spare His own Son to bring us this overcoming power then why would He leave us without now? Why would He send us JesusChrist to die for us and then not give us freely all things for our victory and blessed life on earth? If He did it for us, would He not do it for our children? He didn't allow His Son to die to leave our children in the grips of the law of sin and death! "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:32-35

God's love is persuasive. It is overcoming power working on our behalf and when we walk in His love, His word, and His ways, we are walking according to the Spirit of life in Chirst Jesus. We are walking by faith through the power and persuasive love of God. Through Him, His grace, His power and His ability we now have become, 'more than conquerers.'

"Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Romans 8:37

How persuaded are you that you and your children can go after all that God has for you? You can teach your children the way of love, the way of faith, the way of God's goodness and light. You can teach them that walking in love and faith with each other is the way to illuminate what the enemy has brought in your family’s way. They can be persuaded of this truth. It is for sure and we can stand as Paul said,

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Now we as a family can shout and declare,"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy. 7:6

What better way to put what God says about you in your heart than by using a fun cheer? Get your fam-ily together and have fun shouting this cheer based on Deuteronomy. 7:6. Do it a few times through until you have the hang of it, and then do it throughout the week. It’s so simple and quick, you can even do it in the car while you’re on the go.

Trying to figure out some fun outdoor ac-tivities? Try some of these easy things to do together as a family.

1. Picnic GamesGet the family together and head outdoors

with some simple games (go fish, memory, etc.) and a blanket or old tablecloth. You can

even pack some simple snacks if you’d like (carrot sticks, pretzels... something quick and

easy!). Find a place in the shade at your local park or even in your backyard, lay out your blanket or table cloth,

and enjoy some time outdoors playing a game or two. As simple as this seems, your kids will have a blast and the outdoors are always refreshing for anyone!

2. Go Sight SeeingSo maybe you’re not packing your bags and crossing the ocean, but you can still have fun together doing some “sight seeing”. Take a walk or drive and pick some-thing for everyone to keep an eye out for -- airplanes, construction sights, boats, birds, etc. Have fun seeing who can spot these things first, or keeping track of who finds the most. This is simple and easy (and free!) yet lots of fun for everyone!

After a long cold, sometimes rough winter, Spring arrives. I was thinking how sometimes our spiritual life goes through seasons. We

experience Sum-mer when we are hot and excited about the things that God is doing in our lives. We also go through Fall where things begin to change (us, not Him) and they seem to be not quite what they were. And then of course there is Winter, cold long and seemingly lonely, things appear to be dead and life-less. The good news is that

Spring is just an act of faith away. Perhaps your faith act is finding a scripture to stand on or maybe reaching out to someone who needs the love of God displayed to them. It could be you just need to rise up in what you know, speak and declare God's word in your life and see the wonderful things that He has done and is doing and will do when you spring forward in Him. It's time to spring forward and move on with what God wants for your life. Let's all be Daylight Savings Time Christians and allow the bright light of Jesus to shine.

What We Used:Paper and tag from Deja Views Fresh Print Swatch Book, BananaPink ribbonWood kabob skewersGreen acrylic paintYellow tissue paper, shreddedGlass jar (Prima)Adhesive

These flowers were so much fun to make! First, I found some flower patterns that I liked, and I cut out the petals and centers with the various patterned pa-per from the Deja Views swatch book. Then I glued the centers and petals to-gether and set them aside to dry.

Next I gathered 5 wood kabob skewers and painted them with acrylic paint, al-lowed them to dry, and then painted another coat. Once they were dry, I used masking tape to tape the flowers to the kabob “stems”.

Now comes the fun part! I placed some of the shredded tissue paper in the bottom of my glass jar, then started placing the flowers. I added more tissue paper as I went along, ac-cording to how much I needed to make my flowers stay where I wanted them. Once I fin-ished arranging the flowers, I tied ribbon around the jar and added a cute, spring tag (also from the Deja Views swatch book).

These are great for parties, gifts, or even just for having around your craft room. We hope you enjoy making your own paper bouquet!

Movies On Review -A Christian PerspectiveHIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"Great content with a strong positive message"

"Home Beyond the Sun" a 2004 movie is a true story based on the life of a young girl who was adopted from China. Her mother was killed within hours after her birth and she was left on a doorstep. This movie carries you throughout and shows how at six years old this young Chinese girl is befriended by a Canadian girl who works diligently towards her adoption and works towards finding her a family. Everything about this story is good.Melyssa Ade plays Jenna, as she fights the govern-ment and the evils that a communist country has to offer her and those who work to stop the adoption of a young girl, Chu Lee, played by Molly Sayers. This movie portrays commitment, love, faith and a young girls dreams coming to pass through courage and the determination to stand alone against all odds, for the good of someone else. Well worth watching as a family. Your lives will be deeply touched and your children will be blessed with the outcome that a non quitting spirit has to offer this little girl.

This movie is full of wholesome strength which out does the low income filming quality, and even though it is not the best acting as you can find in the multi million dollar block buster movie stories, this

story's depth of character shines through to the end and out weighs those low budget flicks, acting, and filming/taping issues. If you have a heart for chil-dren, single, married, with children in your lives through any capacity or just want a true story that shines like the 'Son', then you will love this one. If you are someone who can make a difference in the lives of children and have a respect for adoption, then again, you will love this story. We can confi-dently recommend this for you and say this would be well worth seeing and purchasing.

If you know of any who have adopted children from China or have a heart for children in other countries, this movie will move you and deeply touch them. As you see the children in this orphanage and see what life has to hold for them you want to reach out and love them all! As in this movie we find a young single girl making a difference in the life of another. You as a teenager, single adult, grandmother, parent or non parent can be impacted by the couple of hours you will spend in the lives of these on the screen. It truly shows the strength of those who give their lives to bring the Gospel message to a country that threat-ens imprisonment for those who live there. You will be touched and changed as you watch.

A special treat after the movie is to watch and hear the story from the little girl who made it through all we just witnessed in the movie, in spite of all the odds against her!

"Home Beyond the Sun" will warm your heart as you find that your home is warmed and filled with a won-derful message that permeates through this one...

A great movie, well worth having in your collection. Order it through your local Christian bookstore.

Hey kids! Did you know that a wise kid allows God to work and operate through them? That’s right!

Hey, God’s not too big to work through you just because

people say you’re a “lit-tle kid”. If you’re sensi-

tive to God and sensi-tive to the Holy Spirit,

He can operate through you. That’s

right! You can be used by God no matter how

old you are. God wants to use you right now! So be a wise kid and be sensitive

to Him. Watch Him use you in mighty ways!
