The 2015 Holiday Guide is filled with tons of winter-break fun! Here’s how it works:

1) When looking for something to do on a particular day, first check the individual dates for what’s hap-pening—pages 12-48. 2) Then look at the “Month-

long Events” found on pages 4-10, and the specialty sections listed below. 3) Don’t miss the advertisers! They offer

activities and services all month long. Be sure to tell them, “I saw you in Kidsguide.” 4) Sign up on our website for The Buzzz. This newsletter brings events directly to your inbox. 5) Finally, pick up a free copy of the 2015/16

fall/winter issue of Kidsguide available at libraries and kid-friendly retailers. It has thousands of additional ideas!

Important: Be sure to confirm dates and times before going to any activity—things can change. Plan ahead—some activities require reservations.

NutcrackerThe original story was written by E.T.A. Hoff-mann in 1816. Alexandre Dumas rewrote the story to appeal to children in 1847. By 1892, choreographer Marius Petipa asked Tchai-kovsky to write music for the ballet. In various interpretations, the story is of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a Christmas present. The Nutcracker comes to life as they journey to the Land of Sweets.
