DAY 1 / LJUBLJANA APT-LJUBLJANA

In Ljubljana, the old meets the new, a picturesque blend of Medieval, Baroqueand Art Nouveau masterpieces. Set in this “Little Vienna” are the uniquecontributions of architect Joze Plecnik, whose striking structures combineelements of classic Greek and Roman architecture. Tour major sites in the citycentre and ride the funicular to the Ljubljana Grad (the grand castle overlookingthe city). Walk Plecnik’s Triple Bridge, Columned Marketplace, a long the banks ofthe Ljubljanica, visit St. Nicholas Cathedral and Preseren Square.

DAY 2,3 – BLED – BOHINJ

In the afternoon arrive in Bled and accommodate in Triglav hotel. Bled is a town in

northwestern Slovenia in the region of Upper Carniola. The area within the Julian Alps is apopular tourist destination. Bled is known for the glacial Lake Bled, which makes it a majortourist attraction. Perched on a rock overlooking the lake is the iconic Bled castle. The town isalso known in Slovenia for its vanilla-and-cream pastry called kremna rezina or kremšnita.

The second day take a sightseeing tour of Bled, and visit the only island in Slovenia-Bledisland, take a ride in the gondola like Pletna boat and enjoy in the sights from Bled castle. Inthe afternoon drive to Bohinj and visit Savica waterfall- one of the most famous and popularwaterfalls in Slovenia and it is also a spring. The great poet France Preseren enternalized thiswaterfall in the poem "Krst pri Savici“. The water sinks 500 m above in the mountains andcomes through the vertical underground channels to the horizontal tunnel and from it as thetop of the 78 m high waterfall, one part of the water sinks in a tunnel again and comes out asa 25 m high waterfall - left part of the Savica waterfall. After that take a funicular ride toVogel mountain, which rises above Lake Bohinj and offers beautiful sights of the lake andsurrounding mountains.

DAY 4 / BLED-KOBARID (PARENTS’ TOUR)

Depart from Bled in the morning and drive over Vrsic pass to Kobarid. Enjoy themagnificent views of the surrounding sights along the way. Arrive in Kobarid, a townwith a countryside rich with the natural and historical sights. Beautiful mountain peaks,Soca river and waterfalls in a wild gorges... Kobarid is famous for one of the biggestalpine battles in the I. world war (known as Carporetto). About 600,000 men weremobilized. The battle is well documented in the museum in the centre of Kobarid. Themuseum won a Council of Europe award in 1993.

After breakfast take a drive to Goriska Brda, the wine producing district of western

Slovenia.

It’s rolling landscape and hilltop villages are home to more than 200 wineproducers. Stop at Bjana winery to discover the age-old traditions of viticulture inthe region and enjoy wine tasting at the Movia and Kabaj winery.

DAY 6 /GORISKA BRDA/KARST/PORTOROZ

We take a morning drive to the Karst region, also known as Slovenia’s Tuscany. This is home to the Karst prosciutto and Teran red wine. Visit historical Stanjel, a picturesque village that attracts many artists. It is a Karsts settlement, which is disposed in terraces towards the 363 m high Turn hill. The features of Stanjel are narrow streets with houses built from a stone bricks.

Continue to the Lipica stud farm, the origin of the Lipizzaner Horse with over fourcenturies of tradition breeding and selecting these thoroughbred horses. DAY 7 / PORTOROZ-PIRAN-POSTOJNA-PODCETRTEK (PARENTS ‘ TOUR)

After breakfast, visit the town of Piran, which has preserved a medieval layout with narrowstreets and compact houses, giving the area a typical Mediterranean look. It is also thehometown to Giuseppe Tartini, a violinist, composer and music pedagogue, who wrote over300 compositions, many of which belong to the finest musical creations of the 18th Century.After visiting Piran enjoy a boat trip along the Slovenian coast. Experience the production ofsalt in a traditional manner and witness the bird life of the Secovlje saltpans.In the afternoon drive to Postojna. In Postojna we visit the famous Postojna Cave, which isthe largest known cave system in Slovenia. A visit to the caves deserves full attention due tothe diversity of shapes, expansive cave areas, stalactite and stalagmite formations and

WELCOME TO THE PARADISE OF KOZJANSKO, WHERE YOUR KID(S) WILL GET TO KNOW THE SLOVENIAN COUNTRYSIDE AND ITS TRADITIONS

Prevorje stretches along the diverse, hilly Kozjansko region, in the southeast of the Šentjur municipality. It includes six villages with around 750 inhabitants altogether. The local people are mainly farmers, some of them grow ecological food, and many of them still commute to work in the surrounding areas. The heart of Prevorje is the idyllic St. Ann’s church, with its beautiful baroque paintings. In its immediate vicinity is the Prevorje Elementary School, built in 1999, which represents the centre of village life. The school has a large multipurpose room, intended for cultural events and leisure time activities. One unique facility of the school is its astronomical observatory, with an open view to the south sky. Prevorje is an ideal location for astronomy camps because there is no light pollution. And yet this place has many more mysteries. And they are all worth discovering. A very special monument is the old Kozjansko homestead, which has a straw roof, and also the surrounding farms, with traditional household and farm tools. The old traditions are still alive: basketry, linen needlework, crochet, and knitting. The traditional milling industry, once vibrant at the Bistrica stream, has since died out, but the old mills can still be seen today.And yet another exciting mystery: There was a Slovene Robin Hood, the Guzaj robber, who roamed the forests of the Kozjansko region, took from the rich and gave to the poor. His interesting life story is stirring up literary ghosts. His body is buried in the St. Anna church cemetery. The Prevorje Cultural Society is reviving the episodes of his life and making an effort to set up an exhibition about his life and mark the Guzaj cycling and walking path.
