aPPrentiCeshiP standardsMoTorcycle TechNIcIANDesigned by employers, Apprenticeship Standards are work-based training programmes for people aged 16 and over. An Apprenticeship means that you have a job that includes gaining recognised qualifications and essential skills while you are working and earning a wage via a combination of on- and off-the-job learning and development. The learning and development lets apprentices get the relevant skills and experience needed for the motor industry.

your employer will support your training and you will be entitled to the National Minimum Wage or more (depending on the employer). The Apprenticeship Programme will help you understand fully the career path that is being pursued. you will be challenged to perform to the best of your ability and to achieve your goals.

The Apprenticeship Programme will give you access to learning environments and resources that will support you to develop, influence and achieve your individual goals. Triumph Motorcycles will provide the assistance to help you achieve this.

Successful completion of your apprenticeship will take approximately three years, and in this time you’ll not only achieve nationally recognised qualifications, but also learn the skills to become a fully accredited Motorcycle Technician.

During the three year programme you will be required to prove practical and industry competence (knowledge and skills) to achieve a level 3 qualification. you will also require to achieve a level 2 english and Maths prior to the completion of your apprenticeship if you do not have any prior qualifications to exempt them (GcSe Grades A-c).

the aPPrentiCeshiP ProgrammeBloCk release trainingDuring the Apprenticeship Programme you will attend training carried out on a block release basis (travel and overnight stay required) at Triumph’s dedicated training facility in hinckley. This consists of attending 17 weeks of block training over the three year Apprenticeship Programme. During your apprenticeship you will be allocated a dedicated trainer who will guide and support you through to completion.

Whilst attending training at hinckley training centre, you will stay at a dedicated hotel that the programme has chosen to ensure we have full control over quality and holistic care whilst you complete your training.

The hotel and travel costs will be covered by your dealership, allowing you to concentrate on learning the skills to become fully qualified. This includes your breakfast and evening meals, free Wi-Fi and use of the hotels leisure facilities (gym, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna etc. currently at our approved apprentice hotel). lunch will be provided at the training centre and transport to and from the hotel to the training facility is included. hotel rooms are on a twin sharing basis (following our Safeguarding Policy) unless you or your employer specify otherwise and pay for single occupancy.

workPlaCe reviewsWorkplace reviews will also take place in your workplace. The review is an opportunity for your Trainer to engage with both you and your employer in a review of progress and agree targets over the ensuing months. This is a vital activity and we use a number of assessment and progression methods to ensure the link between block training, work based learning and qualification progression is enhanced.
