KHC Pastoral Choice Report, July 2016 © 2016 reTURN/CRM. All rights reserved. 1 Pastoral Choice Report KHC is at the point of beginning a search for a new, permanent senior pastor. This report is aimed at helping the church identify the profile of leadership that would be most appropriate for KHC and its fellowship. To a much lesser degree, we will measure progress on issues identified in the larger 2015 survey. A few questions are aimed at measuring items that prospective pastoral candidate may want to know about KHC. This survey (May/June 2016) was taken by 237 people. Who Took The Survey The average age of participants was 50.2. The median age at KHC is 52. The median divides the survey-respondents into two equally numbered groups. The most commonly occurring age (mode) is also 52. The average survey-taker has been attending KHC 9.7 years with a median of 10 years. While other factors have to be considered, this is a positive indicator. When the average tenure passes 15 years, one becomes concerned about “institutionalization.” This number identifies that KHC is a relatively young church and one that is probably open to change. Most people who took the survey perceived themselves as “members” (88%) of the church. Being a member generally conveys a level of commitment to the church.
