Khan Steel is one of Afghanistan’s newest industrial companies. Our company is 100% Afghan owned and operated. In October 2015, we established a fully licensed steel smelting factory on new Bagram Road in the Pol-e-Charkhi Industrial Park of Kabul. Khan steel inaugurated by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in January of 2018. Our company was founded for the development of the steel industry in Afghanistan to supply the large number of construction projects ongoing in the joint effort of rebuilding of our country. This new venture has created numerous jobs for the local community, reduced the costs of construction, and contributed to the development of our country. This modern factory will be engaged in smelting of recycled (scrap steel) from within Afghanistan and some other required materials for steel such as Mg and Si importing from other countries to produce mild steel products which

meet international standards. Our highly qualified staff of engineers is fully aware of the various International Standards required for the various products we will manufacture for our clients throughout the country. Khan Steel is aware of the environmental impact of such a business and have taken all appropriate measures for control of smoke emission and the surrounding area to ensure full compliance of environmental regulations. Our company is dedicated to providing high quality products and services to our clients. Our management and engineer teams utilized modern technology in our manufacturing processes to ensure all products of this factory are produced to the highest quality standards. Our plant is newly construction and has recently completed all commissioning works to certify for business operations. The factory, located in Pol-e-Charki area consists of the following sections:

Laboratory/Quality Section

This section is where scrap steel is melted through use of an high frequency induction furnace within the temperature of (1600-1700 °C), passing all the chemical and physical analysis required and defining the required grades. The melted steel is then carried on special frames by ceiling cranes to the casting section.Our factory utilizes an Inductotherm© melting furnace a staple brand in this line of works. This furnace has the capacity of processing 200 metric tons of steel material per shift and has the special superiority and distinction than other machines, as its name implies this device can apparently be used in making and melting various shapes and grades.

This department tests and checks all products through utilization of standardized testing equipment to confirm compliance to required specifications. There are a variety of tests that are performed on each product prior to certifying it for sale. These tests are utilized to verify the chemical and physical properties of the products we manufacture. Samples are taken into the lab, analyzed, and documented on a laboratory certificate which accompanies the product till the end user. This “mill certificate” is extremely important in the construction industry. We stand by our results and we certify that our products are manufactured to the required ASTM and ASME standards. The tests conducted on each sample include:1- Chemical composition testsKhan Steel Mill use SPECTRO MAX for chemical analysis which is working as follow: sample materials are evaporated by spark discharge inside the unit in this process the released atoms and ions are axcited and emit light.This light is directed into the optical system and measured using CCD1

technology. Calibration data is already stored in the unit memory the measured values are compared with this data the measured value is converted into concentration and them displayed on the screen.CCD1 Light sesiteive electronic detector, it converts light into electric charge.

KSM SPECTRO Max Chemical Composition Test Result

Khan Steel Mill is producing steel bar according to international standard. producing from 90.7% recycled scrap and 8.3% sponge iron and other require elements for producing of steel bar ASTM A615 concrete reinforcing. The production process includes several productions but Khan Steel method is electronic induction furnace rolling as well as

a section for the preparation and processing of scrap. The main material for steel is recycled scrap and other require elements such as follow: C, MN, SI, P, S, Cr, MO, NI and other...Recycled of non standard scrap metal is carried out in the workshop of scrap differentiation shop section of the scrap yard.

for the conversion of non stadard scrap use of a bundle press, scissors for the cutting scrap metal and fire cutting of scrap with cutters. Recycled dimensional scrap of class 3A according to GOST 2787-75 is fed to electronic furnace. We proudly mention that KSM is certified from ISO 6935-2:2015.

a- Tensile Strength Test: Regarding ASTM Designation A615/A 615M -04a/ AASHTO Designation: M 31M/M 31-031 60 Grade steel rebar has below yield and tensile strength

Minimum Yield Strength: 420 MPaMinimum Tensile Strength: 620 MPa

Regarding ASTM and AASHTO Designation for 75 grade steel rebar has below yield and tensile strength

Minimum Yield Strength: 520 MPaMinimum Tensile Strength: 690 MPa

b- Bend Test: KSM applies 180o bend test by machinec- Dia Test: KSM is developed with modern laser automated dimension machine

We have employed international specialists to train our local employees on all aspects of analysis of the products we produce. The laboratory analysis of all products before, during, and upon completion of manufacture ensure compliance with required regulations. The laboratory is a vital part of our quality control program.

Casting SectioningThis department of our factory casts steel Billet from the melted steel, sizes of these Billet are determined based on required offer and it produces sizes from 100mm to 125mm.We are able to product any type of product within this section according to our customer’s requirements. With this modern, newly purchased equipment, we have unlimited opportunities to meet our customers’ demands.

Reheating FurnaceThis department of our factory is where the casted billet will be reprocessed under the temperature of 1100°C in order to be prepared for shaping them in rolling. This department has the capacity of warming 20MT billets per hour. Ingots are undergo smoothing by heat and preparing them for rolling.

Rolling Mill SectionThis department is where the steel is bent into shape and finished. It includes the following types of equipment• Roughing stand • 600mm Intermediate stands • 450mm Finishing stands 450mm

TMT Sectioning

Cooling Bed & Bundling Section

This department is where our TMT box is located. TMT bars are thermo-mechanically-treated through leading world temporal based technology for high yield strength. The process involves rapid quenching of the hot bars though a series of water jets after they roll out of the last mill stand. The bars are cooled, allowing the core and surface temperature to equalize & make ferrite or pearlite with martenzite layer made on the surface of the steel bar.

Within this area of our factory, products are cooled and cut it to different sizes based on the customer’s requirements. The cut presets are based on the engineering direction for each job order.

Maintenance SectionWithin this department, all the required tools of the factory are manufactured and repaired as necessary. This is the factory maintenance department consisting of various tools and equipment available that can solve all technical problems of the factory. The manufacturing tools and equipment of the factory are repaired and/or serviced here as needed. We have a dynamic team of personnel here who are engaged in repair of equipment and tools to keep our factory at optimum capacity at all times.

دستگاه رولینک میل

مواد جامد شده در دستگاه ری هتینگ به میل آمده

و بعد از نرم شدن تبدیل به انواع سیخ گل میگردند.

در این دستگاه اندازه سیخ از ۸ میلی مر تا ۳۲ مي مر

قابل تنظیم است و نظر به سفارش تولید میگردد.

۱۶۵۰ درجــه حــرارت داده میشــود، تــا اهــن ذوب

شــده و بــه شــکل مایــع درآیــد.

در ایــن بخــش دو کــوره فــوالدی بــزرگ بــه ظرفیت

ذوب ۲۵ تــن آهــن قــرار دارد.

در خــان ســتیل پروســه ذوب آهــن در دمــای ۱۶۵۰ درجــه ســانتی گریــد صــورت میگیــرد، کــه

بــه طــور طبیعــی ایــن فعــل و انفعــاالت مقــداری دود را تولیــد میکنــد، امــا بــرای جلوگیــری

از ایجــاد آلودگــی سیســتم خــاص کــه در کشــور هــای پیرشفتــه جهــان از ان اســتفاده میشــود

نصــب گریدیــده.

توســط ایــن سیســتم در ابتــدا متــام الودگــی از بخــش هــای مختلــف فابریکــه جــذب و بعــدا

تصفیــه میگــردد.

ایــن کار امــری حیاتــی اســت کــه متاســفانه در افغانســتان زیــاد بــه آن توجــه منیشــود امــا در

دراز مــدت تاثیــرات مخربــی را در قبــال دارد.

غنــی رســا افتتــاح گردیــد، کــه در حــال حــارض

ظرفیــت تولیــد ۲۰۰ تــن ســیخ را در یــک شــفت

کاری دارد.

در مراســم افتتاحیــه کــه در فابریکــه برگــزار

شــده بــود عــالوه بــر رییــس جمهــور وزرای

کابینــه، تجــاران ملــی و مناینــده گان ســکتور

خصوصــی نیــز حضــور داشــتند.
