Khalid Cement Industries Complex (KCIC) is one of Qatar’s foremost suppliers of complete concrete

solutions. It established itself as major concrete production company with its 200,000 square meter main

production plant just outside Doha, Qatar. We have plants in Industrial Area, Dukhan, Dafna and Ras

Laffan (soon) area. KCIC specialized in the areas of manufacturing and selling Ready Mix concrete,

Hollow Core Slabs, Concrete blocks, Interlock pavers, Precast building solutions, boundary walls and

The Khalid Corporation has been representing

international and domestic companies

throughout Qatar since its initial conception in

The Divisions and Product Line are: Ready Mix

KCIC’s readymix provides a full range of concrete

types: water proof concrete, impermeable concrete, fibre

reinforced concrete, self compacting concrete, shotcrete,

pigmented colour concrete and screed concrete. KCIC

also has the facilities and technical know how to design

different types of concrete mixes and concrete strengths,

including Gabro aggregate with OPC or SCR or in

combination with Fly ash, Micro Silica or GGBS and

Lime stone Aggregate (from 15 Mpa to 80 Mpa).

KCIC has managed to produce Readymix Concrete to all

customers with different requirement high strength, super

structure, blended with Fly Ash, Microsilica, Superpozz. All

Batching plants used by KCIC are fully computerized to ensure

accurate and satisfactory mix for the customers. Due to the

nature of the country weather, KCIC had added ice plants with

chilled water to each and every plant.

Best quality and permanent quality control are our top priorities and guaranteed by our in-house

laboratory. A prompt delivery to all places in Qatar is assured by our big fleet and our different locations in

Qatar.

Plant Locations and Capacity : We have modern

sophisticated batching plant in Industrial Area , Dafna and Dukhan.

Currently we are operational from these locations. By the end of

March 2010 our new plant located in Ras Laffan will be operational.

In Industrial area we have the capacity to produce 385 cubic meter

of ready mix from two Oru, one Stetter and one Teka plant. We have more than 90 transit mixer, 15

concrete pumps including one 63 meter pump to deliver the product in time to our customers.

Precast Elements

Precast concrete is a concrete elements made with concrete cast in a reusable mould and cured in a controlled environment in the factory, then transported to the construction site and installed into place. KCIC’s precast technology produces a wide variety of finished products, including a variety of architectural applications, such boundary wall, soundproofing and security walls, decorative wall, manholes, panels to clad a building façade, highway barriers, pre-stressed girders, concrete piles, and curb inlets. The advantages of using precast concrete is the increased quality of the material, when formed in controlled conditions, and the reduced cost of constructing large forms

used with poured-in-place concrete. There are many different types of precast concrete forming systems for architectural applications - differing in size, function and cost.

KCIC provides a comprehensive design, planning and manufacturing service for your bespoke precast concrete products. Precast concrete can save considerably on project cost and time, eliminating expensive and time consuming trades. KCIC can produce elements of virtually any shape with a variety of finishes. All KCIC precast elements are produced under strict quality controlled factory conditions using state of the art moulds and our extensive manufacturing facilities.

Hollow core slab flooring

KCIC provides a comprehensive design planning and manufacturing service for

your hollow core slab projects. Hollow core slabs are precast prestressed

concrete elements produced by advanced extrusion machine technology from

high strength concrete, in one continuous operation. Longitudinal cores in the

section provide an efficient structural light weight product.

The design criteria of loading and spans required determines the thickness of

slab to be used, and because of the ‘hollow cores’ within the slabs they are 40-50

% lighter than conventional c.i.p reinforced slabs of similar thickness. Due to this

reduced weight considerable savings can be made as structural frames can be constructed lighter and

reducing sizes of foundations. Considerable savings in time are also achievable as when erected the

slabs form an immediate working platform. When grouted the effective shear key between the adjacent

slabs ensures that the individual slabs act similarly to a monolithic

slab and can provide a diaphragm action in resisting horizontal

forces with or without structural topping.

Hollow core slabs supported in steel or masonry structures

because of their excellent sound and fire resistant properties, can

be used for domestic, commercial and industrial applications in

fact in most cases where floors or roofs are required. Holes for

MEP can be formed in the slabs during production as well as solid ends, shelf ends and open topped

cores.

KCIC hollow core slabs are designed and produced to all relevant national and international codes of

practice and under a strict quality controlled factory environment.

KCIC’s concrete blocks, interlock and kerbstone range

provide only the best quality in terms of fire resistance,

strengths, durability and sound insulation. We also have

the facilities and technical know how to design concrete

Concrete Kerbstone

KCIC Kerbstone are hydraulically pressed and available in a

variety of sizes and configurations as per details shown. The

product complies with B.S. 7263 for precast kerbs and

edgings for use in the construction of carriageways and

footways. KCIC kerbs and edgings have played a major part

being installed in the building of roadways and pathways for

the Qatar infrastructure.

As for all KCIC precast products, production is conducted

under strict QA/QC factory conditions.

Materials and Logistics-Support Department Overview

The KCIC “Materials and Logistics-Support Department” was

formed after the merger of materials, fleet management, heavy

equipment and aggregate procurement activities to provide a

new level of excellence to Khalid Cement Industrial Complex

operations internally and externally to our customers.

The materials and logistics-support department comprise of five

experts in the KCIC headquarter, Salwa Industrial Area, headed

by the Support Manager and supported by more than 200 over

task forces in the plant’s operations side. Our Storage facilities are in Messied Industrial City and in Salwa

Industrial Area Street No. 41 (storage capability of approx. 350,000 metric tons in total).

The Support Department main objective is to strive for excellence towards providing full support to KCIC’s

operations. All the 4 divisions are gearing up to a maximum level to ensure only the best products and

services are delivered. Highest standard is maintained in upholding KCIC motto “Your Complete Concrete

Our R&D Concrete Laboratories consist of a central and several site laboratories that are equipped with

state of the art testing facilities meeting global standards. They provide up-to-date technical resources for

concrete research, and evaluation and testing of materials. The

lab testing facilities include:

• Prepare aggregate samples for concrete, concrete

specimens, cement paste and mortar for testing and

analysis.

• Test concrete workability, pumpability and rheology

properties.

• Curing of concrete specimens under standard or other

controlled conditions

• Evaluate degree of hydration of concrete.

• Investigate the effects of chemical and environmental exposure on concrete, including Resist

Chloride Ion Penetration, Water Absorption, Water Penetration and Initial Surface Absorption.

Certifications and Compliances

KCIC ensure product quality by following the guide line set

aside by Local and International standard bodies. All of our

plants are certified by QGOSM, National Ready Mix Concrete

Association (NRMCA). We are active member of American

Concrete Institute International (ACI), National Ready Mix

Concrete Association (NRMCA). In QC process, our certified

technicians check the product quality at different production

stages. The QC process starts at KCIC early in the design

stage and continue till we deliver the final product to our

customers.
