CHESTER-LE-STREET MURDER MYSTERY WALK
Chester le Street
On Sunday 26th June, over twenty members of Chester-le-Street Branch took part in a Murder Mystery Walkorganised by Jennifer Graham and Ann Stevens. We started in Chester Park and the route took us through thepark, into Chester-le-Street Front Street, down to the Market Place, round the Parish Church grounds and backinto the park through a different entrance. We had to solve twenty two clues to find the murderer and the weaponused, from a choice of twenty suspects and four weapons. We divided into teams and had a lot of fun along theway. When everyone had finished and arrived back at the starting point we all went for a three course meal and afew drinks. Two women arrived a few minutes late for the meal and had an interesting conversation with aCommunity Policeman. When asked if they needed any help they told him they were trying to find a murderer towhich he replied 'I think that's my job'. He was very amused. A wonderful day was had by all. Last year wewent on a Spy Walk in Newcastle and along the quayside solving clues, though no murder had taken place onthat occasion. I'm already looking forward to the next Treasure Trail with Jennifer and Ann.

Lambton Castle
A Beautiful haven of peace where I spent a most delightful weekend in glorious
surroundings.
Here I met the jolliest and friendliest group of people it could be possible to
meet. I refer, of course, to two dozen Keep Fit leaders from the North East.
We worked hard, discussed at length, laughed a lot, and got a little stiff. They
from learning my work, and I from learning their Irish Dancing.
Feeling well satisfied, I said 'good-bye' to "Blottie" on Durham Station, and lay
back in the train determined to relax and 'unwind' so as not to look too
exhausted when I met hubby and family at home.
Confident that this 'task' had been achieved I went to bed, and as I dozed
contentedly, the voice of hubby said, "Are you alright, dear?"
I - "Yes, dear, why?"
He - "You were breathing in Tango time!"
Many thanks N.E.
