We held a hate crime awareness day at NorthallertonTown Hall in October. The people who came along to

this event were really interested in what we weredoing.

Members of our group also gave out leaflets abouthate crime along the High Street in Northallerton.

This was information about what hate crime is andhow to report it.

In November, our group went to look around the Police

station in Harrogate. We wanted to do this aftertalking about how the CCTV works in our area.Everyone enjoyed seeing the different rooms at

the police station and talking to the police abouthow to report a crime.

Celestino who is a member of our group, went to the localGateway club with Kim who supports this group. They talked about self advocacy and said how this

helps people be more confident. Self advocacy isabout having the chance to talk about things thatare important to you.

Our group recently celebrated with Julie. She hastravelled to York and back independently and she is

feeling very proud!
