A FULL TIME TEAM...of over 30 outdoor instructors between our centres. We ONLY appoint experienced instructors who hold national governing body certifications in multiple disciplines.
PAUL OLIVERCEO and founder of Absolute Adventure: 36 years’ experience in the outdoor industry, a fully qualified, multi disciplined, outdoor leader and Wilderness First Responder. Paul is the co-founder of UAE-registered charity Gulf for Good and partner in Absolute Bulgaria.
DAVID WAINWRIGHTOperations ManagerFrom early childhood days of hiking and climbing with his father in Snowdonia to building dens and living out in the woods, David has always just wanted to live an outdoor life. As an adult he started working first as an instructor then a director of adventurous training for the UK, Ministry of Defence and the United States Airforce. Specialising in survival training and expedition work he thinks that being able to journey through an environment with minimal impact to it, is basically the best thing ever! He loves his current role working for Absolute Adventure, whether it’s watching a young person light their first fire, climb to the top of a crag or even just spend their first night away from home, it’s a privilege to be able to provide those first stepping stones.
IRVIN TORRALBASchool Coordinator. Over 20 years in the outdoor education industry. Eclectic approach to adventure programming with BS Psychology, Prehospital Emergency Care, IRATA (Rope Access), NZOIA Kayak Leader Award, LNT Master Educator as background. Irvin accumulated and integrated best practices while working and living in several countries (Philippines, US, HK, NZ, Qatar). activity introductionsWATERSPORTS: Children are taken to our private watersports centre set inside one of the oldest mangrove forests in the world.
After spending time getting comfortable in the water, children can try out a range of different activities and team games involving snorkeling, kayaking, raft building and stand-up paddle boarding.
Once the watersports have finished, they are taken for a tour of the mangrove forest to learn about its importance. There is an opportunity for turtle-spotting.
ARCHERY: Using our dedicated archery range in camp, students will learn the different parts of the bow, how to string a bow, safety range and shooting technique. After everyone has grasped the basics of shooting, we divide the group into teams so they can compete in a few fun games and competitions.
LOW ROPES: The session is designed to facilitate team building, trust, communication, leadership skills, problem solving and critical thinking.
Completing challenges such as crossing lava, walking the rope, vine swings, spider’s web and mine field make sure that everyone also has fun while they learn!
HIGH ROPES: After confidence-building activities on our low ropes course, it’s time to take to the skies on our high ropes.
Students are introduced to climbing harnesses and the use of basic climbing knots before they begin climbing.
Elements such as the leap of faith and giants’ ladder are used to gain confidence and improve communication skills. High ropes are a perfect opportunity to practise “challenge by choice.” Our skilled instructors will change the challenge level at an individual level to ensure that we get the best out of all participants.

MANGROVE EXPLORATION: Students learn how to work together on a twin kayak in order to move forwards, backwards and to change direction. Once mastered, they will tour this unique habitat by water, identify the wildlife that they see and understand how mangroves are adapted to survive.
During the tour, the instructors will also lead a variety of challenges designed to improve kayaking skills as well as communication, coordination and navigation.
Once back at the watersports centre, students will have the opportunity to test their skills on stand-up paddle boards or snorkel around the lagoon.
Before leaving the mangroves students also get an opportunity to go turtle watching.
MOUNTAIN BIKING: Students learn how to properly size and adjust their bikes before practising basic bike skills, going through safety points of riding on- and off-road, and progressing their riding skills. Once these new skills have been acquired, students will begin a mountain bike tour of the nearby wadis.
BUSHCRAFT: This activity is designed to facilitate independence through learning basic survival skills. Students will be given basic instruction and guidance to complete tasks such as: campsite selection, shelter building, fire building and basic cooking skills (e.g. bread on a stick). While the students will have any help they need from our staff and will be under constant supervision, they will have to be largely self-sufficient to excel in this activity.
