PaymentsPayments must be made through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) via credit card or bank draft. Drafts will be made on the 15th of each month enrolled. Any changes to your bank draft must be made 10 days prior to the date you wish the change to take effect. Should any School Age payment draft not be honored by your bank for any reason, you will be held responsible for that payment plus a charge of $40. Credit Card declines are an additional $20. This is in addition to any fee(s) your bank may charge. Past due payments may result in your child’s removal from program.

Registration Changes and CancellationsAll changes must be made at least 10 days prior to the date you wish the change to take effect and must be in writing. We will not reduce the monthly price of care if the child attends less days than registered for.

Wisconsin Shares Wisconsin Shares is a Child Care Subsidy Program that authorizes funding for a parent to pay a portion of School Age fees by using their MyWIChildcare EBT card. If a registration form is submitted but the child is not yet approved for Wisconsin Shares, the child will not be registered until the approval has gone through. On the 1st of each month, funds will be loaded onto the MyWIChildCare EBT card and must be processed by the parent for payment to the Y by the 5th of the month, after which the School Age office will be able to inform the parent of the remaining balance owed for that month. The remaining parent share will be bank drafted on the 15th of each month. Childcare authorizations must be in place and current before the student can be registered and attending School Age.

Visit www.dcf.wisconsin.gov for more information or call 1-888-446-1239.

Financial AssistanceFinancial Assistance is offered to individuals and families who cannot afford memberships or programs. The Y counts on the generosity of our members and community to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected, and secure. The Y has a financial assistance program that awards a percentage off of School Age to qualifying families based on income. To qualify for a scholarship, families must first apply for Wisconsin Shares. Please note that child care scholarships are different than membership scholarships. Please contact the Membership Director at your local branch with questions.

Admission Policy/Special NeedsY School Age programs are open to children of all abilities. Parents have a duty to disclose significant medical, physical or behavioral needs at the time of enrollment. Due to the large-group format of our School Age programs, the Y is unable to provide one-on-one care. If your child has unique needs that require a more specific type of accommodation, a meeting must be scheduled with the Leadership Team a minimum of 2 weeks prior to attending program. This allows us to identify the most effective ways of serving you and your child. Children are still expected to maintain the standards of the School Age program to the best of their ability. Any disciplinary actions that would be required would take their ability into account.

YMCA Free Youth MembershipChildren who are in Y School Age programs for at least five sessions per week will receive a free youth membership valid from September 1st through August 31st. By becoming a Y member, you receive discounts on programs and priority registration for swim lessons, sports and more. Directions to enroll in your free youth membership will be provided on your child’s confirmation email. You may also use the value of a youth membership ($24) to upgrade to another membership type (family or single parent family). Please contact the Membership Director at your local branch with more questions.

The Kettle Moraine YMCA is the area’s largest provider of school-age childcare, providing care for more than 400 children each day throughout Ozaukee and Washington County. This program provides care for boys and girls ages 4 to 16. Children are given the opportunity to express their individual talents in a safe and well-supervised atmosphere and parents are free from worry about their children’s care while they are at work. The entire experience for the children is built around activities that challenge them to accept and demonstrate the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

At Y School Age Programs your child will participate in:

Y Staff

Y Safety

At our School Age Program locations, caring and professional role models are committed to helping kids build confidence and character. The loyalty, dedication and professionalism of our highly trained staff is extraordinary. We count on our staff to meet strict Y qualifications and pass a background check.

Parents look to the Y for a safe and secure environment where children can learn practical social skills and develop positive values. Our reputation for consistency and safety, as well as our focus on youth development, gives parents the confidence they need to trust us with their children. To ensure the well-being of each child, we review our health and safety policies on an ongoing basis. Our low staff-to-child ratio also allows our staff to give each child the attention and guidance necessary to create a positive and safe environment.

Welcome to the Y School Age Program!

The Kettle Moraine YMCA has expanded its longtime commitment to supporting a healthy lifestyle in our School-Age programs. Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) teaches children how to make healthy food choices and to enjoy physical activity, contributing to their social and physical development. Our commitment to our families is to serve healthy snacks and provide at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily. Some examples of these activities are dancing, relay races, basketball, kickball and group games like tag.

Healthy Eating and Physical Activity

We offer dedicated daily homework time. We provide at least 30 minutes of focused, quiet time for students to work on homework or other academically-based work. Our staff will do their best to work with the schools and teachers to help ensure we are complimenting the work they do in the classroom. We understand that certain families may request more than 30 minutes each day to be spent on homework completion. Please let your lead teacher know of any additional requests. Students are responsible for keeping track of their homework each day.
