Record Book Judging Criteria:

Record Book Completion

All questions on the record book must be answered with complete sentences.

Leave no blank spaces.

Neatness

Record book and story is readable, clean, neat and attractive.

Keep form free of erasures and crossed-out words.

Spelling & Punctuation

Use correct spelling and punctuation.

Story Procedure

Make sure to clearly identify what the project is.

Describe how the project was made or accomplished.

Make sure story is orderly, factual and detailed.

Learned

Include what you learned in your story, the more details, the better.

Story Details

Tell why the project was selected.

Tell who helped with the project and explain the importance of that help.

Story Construction

Have at least three paragraphs, including an introduction, a body and a conclusion.

Have a catchy beginning that introduces the project or accomplishment. Use complete sentences.

Picture (optional)

Include a hand drawn picture or photograph of the project.

Both the record book and story must be submitted or entries will be disqualified. The story and record book must be the child’s own original work.
