Simple Sentences • A simple sentence is simple because it contains only one
independent clause:

Compound sentence• A compound sentence is when you join two simple sentences
properly, you get a compound sentence.
• Example of compound sentence• Trey had gym on Mondays, and Wednesdays, but no classes the

Complex Sentence• A complex sentence is a sentence that contains both a dependent
and an independent clause.

Compound-Complex Sentences • A Compound complex sentence combines at least two independent
clauses and at least on dependent clause.
• Example of compound complex sentence:• Brandon was already in class, and Bria was in the lab while Justin
