KEMSEAL ZR DESCRIPTION Kemseal ZR is a water-based anti-corrosive primer for application to properly prepared ferrous metal, and asphalt roofing surfaces. It has good corrosion resistance, excellent holdout, re-coat tolerance and adhesion to a wide range of substrates. Kemseal ZR has bleed block properties over asphalt surfaces. It dries quickly, is non-flammable, and contains very low Volatile Organic Compound levels. PRINCIPLE CHARACTERISTICS _________ Water-borne Alkyd Pigment Type- Lead-free Corrosion Inhibiting Pigments. USE AREAS GENERAL__________________________ COLOUR: Off White GLOSS: Low Sheen eggshell RECOMMENDED FILM THICKNESS: T Wet: 4.0 - 5.0 mils. Dry: 2.0 - 2.5 mils. See a Kemforte representative for other recommendations SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil, grease, waxes or other surface contamination. New or Old Galvanized Steel: Prepare rusty or deteriorated surfaces by wire brushing, scraping or sandblasting to remove loose rust, scale, or deteriorated paint. Spray the surface with a suitable rust and oxide film remover as necessary. COVERAGE RATE:Will vary depending on roof condition and surface texture. Metal; should yield approximately 325 sq.ft. per gallon (8 sq.m/ltr) per coat. Typical application is spot prime all rust spots, then prime the complete roof including over the pre-primed rust spots. Severe conditions may require Ultraprimer 2-part epoxt primer and/or additional Application of Kemseal ZR. Modified Bitumen or asphalt- Approx 80 sq.ft/gal on granulated cap sheet and up to 160 sq.ft/gal on smooth surface. LIMITATIONS: For mild to moderate atmospheric exposure. Not recommended for severe chemical exposure or immersion. Observe recommended film builds. Do not apply when ambient or substrate temperature is below 10°C (50°F) or if the Relative Humidity exceeds 85% Also do not apply at temperatures less than 3°C (5°F) above the Dew Point. Keep product from freezing. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Mix well before using. Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: This product is for industrial use only. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for proper health and safety information. STORAGE AND HANDLING: Storage: Keep from freezing.
