17 Border Crossings
Collected over 15 years of international travel, 17 Bor-
der Crossings is a one-man show that weaves together
real adventures of international border crossings into
a dramatic examination of imaginary lines, arbitrary
passports, and curious customs. It explores a world
opened up by the fall of the Berlin Wall, sealed off by
the events of 9/11, and re-imagined after the protest of
a Tunisian fruit vendor who started the revolutions that
became known as the Arab Spring.

Zero Cost house
Five characters take turns playing one contemporary
Japanese playwright who confronts a younger version
of himself and the ideas he once believed. It’s an absurd
time- and space-bending show with singing rabbits
and deadpan responses. The awkward and sometimes
uncomfortable moments help define provocative ideas
about philosophy, politics, and shelter.

communication, entertainment, and even a feeling of
safety. But what happens when our familiar sounds
become distorted or even disappear? Pittsburgh-based
Murphy/ Smith Dance Collective explores the relation-
ship between sound and human instinct in this world
premiere dance performance.
