Kazakhstan Electricity Transmission Rehabilitation Project.

Phase II

Project Objective

Improve the technical level, energy efficiency, reliability

and stability of Kazakhstan UPS operation

Location Kazakhstan National Power Grid

Project provides for

Stage I - Upgrading and replacement of high voltage

equipment at 55 substations of Kazakhstan National

Power Grid which have not been included in the scope

of Phase I of the Project.

Stage II - Construction of 220 kV Shu – Zapadnaya

OHTL, 256.6 km, and Burnoye – Tulkubas OHTL, 60

km.

Project value: $ 346.7 million (EBRD - € 255 million plus company's funds)

Implementation period: 2010-2016

Alma Electricity Transmission Project

Objective

•Improve reliability of power supply and cover of power demand of Almaty

city and Almaty region consumers;

•Power delivery from Balkhash TPP (1320 MW)

Location Almaty province

Project provides for:

• Construction of 500/220/110 kV Alma SS including 2 AT, 500 MVA

each

• Rehabilitation and extension of 500 kV Almaty SS and 500 kV

YuKGRES SS

• Construction of 500 kV YuKGRES-Alma OHTL 320.65 km

• Construction of 500 kV Almaty-Alma OHTL 62.71 km

• Construction of 220 kV Alma-Kensai OHTL 54.3 km

•Construction of 220 kV OHTL cross connection lines at Alma SS,

including:

•220 kV ACHPP-3 – Shelek OHTL 2х12.9 km
