Keeping an open mind allowed growth

In the old world many people believed the Earth was flat, until a guy named Columbus sailed across the sea, and proved to people that Earth was not flat but a sphere. From Columbuss discovery, it encouraged people to have an open mind and slowly lead the world to have innovations like internet, discoveries of new lands and people being able to explore space. In this essay I will discuss the points mentioned above, and how an open mind can lead to growth.The internet, although initially developed as a military communication network, it has progressed fast until its perceptions. At one time it was believed that internet would serve the world as a pure educational media. It is now proven it has flourishing business and social opportunities. Open mindedness has allowed the internet to find its way into millions of homes and businesses worldwide.

During the Columbus era, it was believed that the Earth was flat, until one day a guy named Christopher Columbus decided to open up his mind and prove to the world, that Earth was not flat. Columbus sailed across the sea with several men and in his favour he proved hat Earth was not flat, but spherical. In addition, when he was sailing across the seas trying to find India, he accidentally discovered the continent which is known as North America today. Overall, because of his opened mindedness, new lands were discovered.The Renaissance period was when a scientist named Galileo built the first telescope; he was one of the first scientists to prove to world that Earth orbited the sun and the first person to look at the surface of the moon. Many centuries later United States of America developed a research agency called NASA. They opened up their mind and allowed researchers to fly into space to collect samples of dirt from different planet. NASAs space exploration will eventually allow us to establish a human civilization on another planet (e.g., Mars) as a hedge against the type of catastrophe that wiped out the dinosaurs. Space exploration in an international context offers a peaceful cooperative venue that is a valuable alternative to nation state hostilities. One can look at the International Space Station and marvel that the former Soviet Union and the U.S. are now active partners referring back to the Cold War. Therefore, having an open mind allowed peace in countries and further space exploration.In conclusion, keeping an open mind allowed growth in internet, discoveries of new land and people being able to explore space. All and all, from the points mentioned above, people achieved great achievements and helped develop the world more easier to connect around.
