If your vehicle doesn’t move when you use the transmitter there’s a good chance your vehicle’s battery is ready for a recharge.

TO SHOOT GUN

1. Hold down center button on top of transmitter (#6) to raise gun.

2. Squeeze trigger on bottom right side of the transmitter.

3. Hold down center button (#6) to lower gun or tap button gently to adjust height.

N.S.E.C.T.TM can shoot and walk simultaneously but cannot shoot while the cannon is being raised and lowered.

When the gun is in the lowered position under the wings, the eyes will be yellow. When the gun is in

the upper position - wings spread out - the eyes will be red.

The gun will only shoot when the eyes are in the red mode.The N.S.E.C.T.™ claws and cannon will stop functioning if their motion is impeded for an extended period of time. To regain function first turn OFF and then turn back ON the N.S.E.C.T.™

If the gun will not retract into the N.S.E.C.T.’s body, check under the gun to make sure that no loose darts or debris have impeded its path.

XDo not fire at people or animals or at point blank range. Keep hands clear of the N.S.E.C.T.™ legs.

III. BATTERY INSTALLATION

Requires a 7.2v Tyco® (NiCd) battery pack for vehicle and a 9v battery for transmitter.

Vehicle

1. Unscrew to open the battery door (screwdriver not included). Pull the battery door up and away from the vehicle.

2. Insert the battery pack into the battery compartment as shown.

3. Replace the battery door. Screw back in to lock the battery door.

4. To remove the battery pack: First turn the vehicle off, unscrew the battery compartment, open the battery door and lift out the battery pack.

XCAUTION: Battery pack may be hot after use. Allow to cool before touching.

Transmitter

1. To install the transmitter battery, open the battery door as shown.

2. Install one 9V battery in the battery compartment as shown. Observe the battery polarity (+ and -).

3. Close the battery door.

IV. BATTERY CHARGING/CARE

XCAUTION: Use only the charger supplied with this toy. Do not use any other charging source.

Use only Tyco® 7.2V NiCd battery pack. Other batteries may leak or rupture, causing personal injury

and damage.

1. Plug the wall pack charger into a standard wall outlet.

2. Connect the wires leading from the battery pack to the wall pack charger connector. Make certain the two connectors are tightly snapped together.

3. To disconnect the wires, push down on the connector clip and pull apart.

4. After charging, the battery will feel warm. This condition is normal for fully charged batteries.

5. New battery packs must be charged for 5 1/2 hours the first two times charged. Subsequent charges will require 4 hours. Charging the battery pack for more than 4 hours will not give you a longer running time. 4 hours is all that is required for a fully charged battery pack.

6. Unlike alkaline batteries, which lose power gradually, a NiCd battery will run for its normal running time and then lose most of its power at once. That’s when you’ll know it’s time to recharge the battery pack.

7. After use, the battery pack will be hot! Wait at least 20 minutes until the battery pack cools before recharging. Recharging a warm or hot battery pack will greatly reduce the number of times your battery pack can be recharged.

8. The charger must be disconnected from the electric supply.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY INFORMATION:

• DO NOT RECHARGE BATTERY PACK IF IT’S HOT. ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE RECHARGING.

• DO NOT RECHARGE A BATTERY PACK THAT SHOWS LEAKAGE OR CORROSION.

• DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE BATTERY PACK. THE BATTERY PACK IS A SEALED RECHARGEABLE NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERY.

• EXERCISE CAUTION IN HANDLING A HOT BATTERY PACK.

• IF BATTERY PACK AND/OR CHARGER ARE WET, THOROUGHLY DRY BEFORE CHARGING.

• DO NOT RECHARGE NON-RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

Note to Adults:

• Remove rechargeable batteries before recharging.

• The battery charger is for adult use only.

• Regularly examine for damage to the plug, enclosure and other parts. In the event of any damage, the toy must not be used with the charger until the damage has been repaired.

• The charger is not a toy.

; V. QUICK TIPS

q When N.S.E.C.T.™ starts to lose power you’ll start to lose performance. It’s time for a recharge. As a rule, you should always start with a fully charged battery.

w Be forewarned--The N.S.E.C.T.™ running time may change depending on your driving style.

e Radio interference can mess up the signals you’resending, causing N.S.E.C.T.™ to perform erratically. Things to look for that may be causing the interference: other R/C vehicles running on the same frequency, electrical wires, large buildings, CB radios, or other wireless gear that can cause interference.

r Point your transmitter antenna up -- not down toward N.S.E.C.T.™. If N.S.E.C.T.™ escapes your antenna’s grasp, you can kiss proper functioning goodbye.

t Don’t drive N.S.E.C.T.™ through water or snow. Not only won’t you get very far, you might ruin the creature. If N.S.E.C.T.™ does get wet, wipe it with a towel and allow it to dry completely.

y Don’t store N.S.E.C.T.™ near heat or in direct sunlight. Always turn the switches OFF and, if you’re not planning on any search and destroy maneuvers for awhile, remove all the batteries...really. It’s amazing how one bad battery can destroy a super-secret experimental creature technology (that would be N.S.E.C.T.™).

*Please recharge your battery when you notice that the N.S.E.C.T.™ eyes are blinking slowly. If the N.S.E.C.T.™ is blocked by some obstacle for an extended period of time it may

turn itself off. Remove N.S.E.C.T.™ from the path of the obstacle. If it cannot receive any signal from the transmitter, the eyes will blink yellow. If the battery is dying the eyes will blink red.

Note to adults: To ensure that the child’s play is both safe and fun, please review all the operating instructions and safety tips with your child.

Safety Tips

• Yes, N.S.E.C.T.™ is a multi-terrain vehicle but you should NEVER, EVER play with it on the street!

• DO NOT pick up N.S.E.C.T.™ while in motion. Take your fingers off the transmitter buttons and then pick it up.

XCAUTION: Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away from N.S.E.C.T.™ while it’s on.

• Adult supervision is recommended when N.S.E.C.T.™ is being used.

• To avoid accidental or unwanted operation, remove all the batteries when not in use.

• Always turn N.S.E.C.T.™ OFF before removing the batteries.

BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATIONIn exceptional circumstances batteries may leak fluids that can cause a chemical burn injury or ruin your product. To avoid battery leakage:

• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.

• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged (if designed to be removable).

• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if designed to be removable).

• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.

Si le véhicule ne bouge pas lors de l’utilisation de la radiocommande, il y a de fortes chances pour que la batterie ait besoin d’être rechargée.

TIR DU CANON 1. Appuyer sans relâcher sur le

bouton central sur le dessus de la radiocommande (6) pour lever le canon.

2. Appuyer sur le bouton de tir sous la radiocommande à droite.

3. Appuyer sans relâcher sur le bouton central (6) pour baisser le canon ou taper doucement sur le bouton pour ajuster la hauteur.

N.S.E.C.T. peut tirer et marcher simultanément mais il ne peut tirer lorsque le canon se lève ou se baisse.

Lorsque le canon est en position baissée sous les ailes, les yeux seront jaunes. Lorsque le canon est en position levée, les ailes s’ouvrent et les yeux seront rouges.

Le canon tirera uniquement lorsque les yeux seront en mode rouge.

Les pinces et le canon du N.S.E.C.T. s’arrêteront de fonctionner si leur mouvement est entravé pendant un temps prolongé. Pour relancer le mécanisme, éteindre puis remettre en marche le N.S.E.C.T.

Si le canon ne se rétracte pas dans le corps du véhicule, vérifier sous le canon pour vérifier qu’aucune flèche ou débris n’ont obstrué son passage.

XNe pas tirer à bout portant et en direction de personnes ou d’animaux. Ne pas approcher les mains des pattes du N.S.E.C.T.

III. INSTALLATION DES PILES

Le véhicule fonctionne avec une batterie Tyco 7.2V (NiCd) et la radiocommande avec une batterie de 9 V.

Véhicule

1. Dévisser le couvercle du compartiment de la batterie (tournevis non fourni). Soulever le couvercle et le retirer.

2. Insérer la batterie dans le compartiment, comme illustré.

3. Replacer le couvercle. Revisser le couvercle.

4. Pour retirer la batterie : d’abord éteindre le véhicule, dévisser le couvercle du compartiment, ouvrir le couvercle et sortir la batterie.

XATTENTION : La batterie peut être chaude après utilisation. La laisser refroidir avant de la toucher.

Radiocommande

1. Pour installer la batterie de la radiocommande, ouvrir le couvercle du compartiment comme illustré.

2. Installer une batterie de 9 V dans le compartiment de la batterie,

comme illustré. Respecter le sens des polarités (+ et -).

3. Refermer le couvercle du compartiment.

IV. CHARGEMENT/ENTRETIEN DE LA BATTERIE

XAttention : Utiliser uniquement le chargeur fourni avec ce jouet. Ne pas utiliser d’autres sources de chargement.

Utiliser uniquement une batterie Tyco® 7.2V NiCd. Tout autre type de batterie pourrait fuir ou se rompre, provoquant blessures et dommages.

1. Brancher le chargeur de batterie dans une prise murale standard.

2. Brancher le câble de la batterie dans la prise du chargeur. Vérifier que les deux prises sont bien enclenchées.

3. Pour débrancher le câble, appuyer sur le clip de la prise et tirer.

4. Après la charge, la batterie est chaude. Ceci est normal lorsque la batterie est complètement chargée.

5. Les batteries neuves doivent être chargées pendant 5 heures 1/2 les deux premières fois. Après cela, 4 heures suffisent. Il est inutile de charger la batterie pendant plus de 4 heures car cela n’augmentera en rien la durée d’autonomie du véhicule. 4 heures suffisent à charger complètement la batterie.

6. À la différence des piles alcalines qui perdent leur énergie progressivement, une batterie NiCd fonctionnera normalement pendant la durée de sa charge, puis elle perdra presque toute sa puissance immédiatement. Il sera alors temps de recharger la batterie.

7. Après utilisation, la batterie sera chaude. Attendre au moins 20 minutes que la batterie refroidisse avant de la mettre à charger. Ne pas recharger une batterie encore chaude car cela réduirait considérablement le nombre de charges possibles.

8. Le chargeur doit être débranché de la prise électrique.

w L’autonomie du véhicule peut varier selon le style de conduite.

e Des interférences radio peuvent perturber les signaux envoyés au véhicule et nuire à son bon fonctionnement. Parmi les éventuels éléments perturbateurs, il faut citer : d’autres véhicules radiocommandés fonctionnant sur la même fréquence, la

proximité de fils électriques, de grands immeubles, des radios BP ou tout équipement sans fil susceptible de causer une interférence.

r L’antenne de la radiocommande doit être orientée vers le haut, et non pas vers le bas, en direction du véhicule.™. Si le véhicule n’est plus à portée de la radiocommande, il sera alors impossible de le faire fonctionner.

t Ne pas manoeuvrer le véhicule dans l’eau ou la neige. Non seulement il n’irait pas très loin mais en plus il pourrait être irrémédiablement endommagé. Si le véhicule est mouillé, l’essuyer avec une serviette et le laisser complètement sécher.

y Ne pas ranger le véhicule près d’une source de chaleur ou en plein soleil. Toujours mettre les interrupteurs à l’arrêt, et enlever toutes les batteries si aucune expédition ou manoeuvre de combat ne sont prévues à court terme. Aussi surprenant que cela puisse paraître, une batterie endommagée peut détruire une créature technologique expérimentale super secrète comme le N.S.E.C.T !

*Recharger la batterie lorsque les yeux du N.S.E.C.T. clignotent lentement. Si le N.S.E.C.T. est bloqué par un obstacle pendant une période de temps prolongé, il est possible qu’il s’éteigne. Déplacer le N.S.E.C.T. du chemin de l’obstacle. Si le véhicule ne peut pas recevoir de signal de la radiocommande, les yeux clignoteront en jaune. Si la batterie se décharge, les yeux clignoteront en rouge.

Conseils de sécurité

• Oui, le véhicule N.S.E.C.T. est tout-terrain mais il ne faut JAMAIS jouer avec dans la rue.

• NE PAS attraper le véhicule en mouvement. Ôter ses doigts de la radiocommande puis ramasser le véhicule.

XATTENTION : Tenir les doigts, les cheveux et les pans de vêtements éloignés de N.S.E.C.T. lorsqu’il fonctionne.

• La surveillance d’un adulte est recommandée lors de l’utilisation de ce véhicule.

• Pour éviter une mise en marche accidentelle, enlever toutes les batteries quand le véhicule n’est pas utilisé. Toujours éteindre le véhicule avant de retirer les batteries.

MISES EN GARDE AU SUJET DES PILES

Lors de circonstances exceptionnelles, des substances liquides peuvent s’écouler des piles et provoquer des brûlures chimiques ou endommager le jouet. Pour éviter tout écoulement des piles :

• Ne pas recharger des piles non rechargeables.

• Les piles rechargeables doivent être retirées du produit avant d’être rechargées (en cas de piles amovibles).

• En cas d’utilisation de piles rechargeables, celles-ci ne doivent être chargées que par un adulte (en cas de piles amovibles).

• Ne pas mélanger des piles alcalines, standard (carbone-zinc) ou rechargeables (nickel-cadmium).

• Ne jamais mélanger des piles usées avec des piles neuves.

• N’utiliser que des piles du même type que celles recommandées ou des piles équivalentes.

• Veiller à bien insérer les piles en respectant le sens des polarités (+) et (-).

• Toujours retirer les piles usées du produit.

• Ne pas court-circuiter les bornes des piles.

• Jeter les piles usées dans un conteneur réservé à cet usage.

• Ne pas jeter ce produit au feu. Les piles incluses pourraient exploser ou couler.
