GOAL/OUTCOMES.
What is a Curriculum Map?
To increase curriculum awareness:
• Allows a program to be looked at in a holistic way
• Examines the level beyond individual courses – are we providing appropriate conditions for students to achieve intended program learning outcomes?
To create a visual representation (matrix) of a program’s curriculum to:
• Align the sequence of instruction with desired program goals /outcomes
• Determine where there are gaps in the curriculum
• Identify where student learning can be assessed
Why Create a Curriculum Map?
To document and demonstrate the coherence of program curricula to accreditors, students, parents, colleagues, and legislators
Shows :

• Increasing complexity
• Linkages between and among program components
