Bothers, Familes, Another summer has come to a close. As the kids head back to school, I look back, & feel it was a wonderful summer. I want to say thank you to those who participated in our semiannual Adopt-a-Street cleanup. A special thanks to PGK Barry Clark, who has stayed on top of this for many years. A fun and productive day. If you’ve been around recently, you might have no-ticed that there have been some changes. The Columbian Club is completing the replacement of the fence behind the hall. Also, they have had a new pad of concrete poured next to the picnic area. Thanks to the Club for keeping us looking great. I would like to thank our young volunteers Mike Wood, & Thomas Carmody for assisting me in cleaning up the council shed, and organizing it. Please keep it clean and organized, so that we know what we have available for future events. Also thank you to PGK Woody Holmes, PGK Joe Hurd, Chris Klotz, & Pat Kavanaugh for cleaning up to the kitchen closet. Thank you. We are looking into bringing back the Columbian Squires program. The Squires is an international fraternity, ages 10 to 18. Local Knights of Columbus councils and assem-blies sponsor Squire circles, which may be based either in a council/assembly hall, in a parish building, a parochial, private, public or military school, or on a military installation. The Squires involves young men in programs to benefit the Church, the community, as well as in recreational and social activities. If anyone would like more information, please let me know, and I will be glad to provide it to you when I receive it from the State Council. We have a lot of great events coming up. The 1980’s party, the Monkey Bottom, Sunday Breakfasts. I look forward to seeing you enjoying yourselves at the events. Vivat Jesus! J.P. Tyminski Grand Knight

34th Annual Monkey Bottom Classic
Gentlemen, It’s time to reclaim the Monkey!! The Classic is set for Saturday Sept 20th at 10am at the softball field behind Ocean View Elementary. If you are over the age of 33, and have a desire to help reclaim that little sucker, there is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the Knight’s Lounge. We will be hosting the night before party, with the VFW having the hon-ors of the post game party. Let’s bring the monkey home. As a reminder, if you do come to cheer on our participating brothers, and bring an adult beverage, please bring a coozie, or a cup to put the beverage in. Thanks.
We also have a couple more events coming up in No-vember and December that the dates are still being hashed out, such as the Memorial Mass in November, the LOTKA Chil-dren’s Christmas Party, and the Council Christmas Party. We also are still looking for individuals or families who would like to put on a Friday Knight Dinner. If you are interest-ed, contact either myself, or the Bar Manager, Tricia. Officer Vacancy
With PGK Richard Klotz assuming the position of treas-urer, we are in need of a brother to fill the position of Chancel-lor. This is an extremely important position, as the Chancellor not only acts as a counsel for the Grand Knight & Deputy Grand Knight, but he also is directly involved with recruitment of new members. If you, or someone you know is a 3rd degree knight in good standing with the council (all past & current dues paid) and is interested, please contact the Grand Knight or Deputy Grand Knight.
