THD - Tri Hull Design : designed for fun

The unique THD shape provides the optimum in speed, comfort and stability for Bic Sport Kayaks. The result of over 20 years of Bic Sport watercraft design and innovation, the THD shape has been developed to provide improved gliding and stability while maintaining manoeuvrability. Inspired from current trimaran designs, the THD shape features a central section (1) for increased gliding, two outside hull sections (2) to stabilize the kayak and two intermediate concaves (3) to create lift and an optimal mix of water and air for heightened performance. On the Ouassou, the design is revised to feature two concaves for increased gliding and lift.

Twin sheet Technology creates a product that is lighter and stronger than rotomoulded products. These qualities, coupled with our UV resistant polyethylene, give Bic Sport kayaks exceptional durability.Durable and rigid: With more than 20 years experience in the design and manufacturing of water sports equipment, Bic Sport has used its vast knowledge to make Bic Sport Kayaks fast, comfortable and stable. The hulls of the Bilbao and Tobago have clean fl uid lines despite their compact size. These characteristics give the kayaks excellent gliding and stability qualities.

The spirit of fun kayaking !The Ouassou is designed as a versatile, fun kayak with a wide range of use. With its excellent glide, control and manoeuverability, the Ouassou is ideal for beach fun. Also, the stern handles let you hang on to the stern and swim and also allow easy access on board. The Ouassou also handles surf and waves comfortably. The ‘spatula’ shaped hull is derived from surf longboards and rodeo kayaks. It’s quick and responsive.The slight keel and lateral rail design provide directional stability and excellent tracking. Also, the Ouassou’s knee-strap system allows you to secure your body to the cockpit when you are looking for greater control. Its compact form and light weight make this a kayak that is easy to manoeuver, transport and store.

Designed to work on both the Bic Scapa and Scapa Lite-Tech, the Convertible Hard-Deck Cover can transform the Scapa from a sit-on-top designed kayak, to a protected «sit-in» kayak in a matter of minutes, with just seven mounting screws.The Scapa with the Convertible Hard-Deck Cover gives you the best of both kayaking worlds: the sun and fun of sit-on-top kayaking, with the extended paddling season available with sit-inside kayaking. This hybrid concept also provides new favorable features. With the Convertible Hard Deck in place, the sealed Scapa hull will not only provide you with positive fl otation, but it also allows water out through the scuppers, reducing the hassle and need for a pump. The principle is similar to other semi rigid, folding boats: it can be folded and stored in a small space. On the water, the Yakka is a high performance kayak that glides along on its rigid hull and provides a paddling experience equal to that of standard rigid-form kayaks.The Yakka can be set up in minutes: just unfold the hull sections, secure the center support and infl ate the sides. For pack-down, simply defl ate the sides and fold the hull closed.
