A bowling literacy includes the ability to read a scoring sheet and also the knowledge of the different terms associated with the sport.
• The ability to read a sales ad.
• The ability to read and understand
sales signs posted in the store.
• The ability to read and understand
the tags on the clothes including the
size fabric makeup and wash
instructions.
Katie’s shopping literacy is
from when she goes
shopping with Jessie. Her
and Jessie love to go
shopping together when
they have the money.
A volleyball
literacy includes the
different types of
maneuvers and the
different positions
on the court.
Katie’s volleyball literacy started to develop while watching our cousins when she was younger and has continued to grow through her playing the sport. Katie’s favorite thing to do in her free time is play volleyball.
Katie’s Literacy is
linked to her friendship
with EJ. Texting is their
main means of
communication.
A soccer literacy includes the
names of different penalties and
kicks and all the different
positions on the soccer field.
Katie’s soccer literacy comes from her friendship with Zach Petoskey and Robin Trewieler. She goes and watches their games whenever she gets the chance.
A film literacy includes
all the different filming
techniques and the
different film
companies.
Katie’s film literacy
comes from her
relationship with her
best friends Alex and
EJ. They love going out
to the theater to watch
movies or rent movies
and have a movie night.
An art literacy includes the knowledge of the different types of paints markers and pencils that are used in art. It also includes the different types of paper and the different techniques used in art.
Katie’s art literacy is from
the wide range of art
classes she has taken in
high school. She took
these classes because she
loves art and she likes
taking classes taught by
Mr. Johnson.
A pottery literacy would
include knowledge of
different types of
glaze, clay, and techniques
used to make pottery
Katie’s pottery literacy comes from her love of art. Katie loves art classes and has taken almost every art class offered at our high school.
