Where is Kathamandu?

Kathamandu is in Nepal. It's is a very small country in

Asia between India and China. Kathmandu is Nepal's capital. Population: 1.442.271 people. It's in Kathmandu Valley and it's surrounded by big

mountains.

How is Kathamandu?It's lively and there is always movement, it is very crowded and busy.

There are interesting places to visit. People are very kind and always ready to help tourists. It's a very cheap city.

poverty. It's also very dirty.

There are many children living in the streets and loads of dogs.

There aren't any traffic lights and the traffic is dangerous. The city is very noisy, cars play the horn all the time.

How to move around Kathmandu?Airplane to enter and leave the country and to travel to the himalayas. The bus is the main transport in the country, prices are very cheap. Minibuses are very cheap and reach every corner of the city; ideal to visit Kathmandu.

There are many rickshaws, very traditional in all Asia.

Most of the tourists use taxis, they are very cheap.

There are many motorcycles and bicycles in the city.

Kathmandu is a city with many places to visit, especially buddhist and hindu temples.The tourist spots are: Stupa of Swayambunath Thamel

The Nepelese currency is the rupee.

Never drink tap water and always have a torch ready.

During monsoon season you need an umbrella.

There are two cultures; buddist and the hinduism. The Nepalese people are very religious.

In Nepal there are casts; in Kathmandu there are loads of Newars, the Newars are hinduist and craftsmen.

The typical Nepalese dish is rice with lentils, chicken and vegetables. Be carefull, it's spicy and hot.

The traditonal dressing is the sari for women and the kurta for men.

The official language of Nepal is the nepali but many young people also speak English.Public schools only use nepali languague, private schools teach all in english. There are areas in Kathmandu where people can speak newar language.
