Please send your child to school with a warm jacket, hat and mittens on cold days** Upcoming Events in Fourth Grade 11/6 & 11/13 Parent Teacher Conferences: No School for Kids 11/17/09 Farm Breakfast and publishing party- 8:30 a.m. Come celebrate our writing and farm experience! 11/24/09 Bread Baking for Thanksgiving- 1:30 p.m. 11/25/09 Early Dismissal- Happy Thanksgiving! 12/4/09 Field Trip to Ellis Island- 8:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m. NOTE LATE DISMISSAL Where are our families from? e are excited to begin our exploration of immigration in Social Studies. In school, we are starting to think about the unique stories of our own family histories and are talking about how to research the past. In our quest to find answers, students are learning about primary documents as resources for research. We encourage conversations at home and welcome any documents, artifacts or information about your family history. However, please don’t send anything that is irreplaceable! From here, we will begin to learn about immigration through Ellis Island. Please note the field trip date. Robotics in Science! We are starting to experiment with robotics with Michael in science. We are learning basic programming skills and have enjoyed delving into this project! 11 th Grade Buddies! Today, we met with our 11 th grade buddies! They had prepared interview questions for us and we were eager to answer. We also were able to share some of the work we are doing in 4 th grade. We are excited to get to know them more over the course of the year. See photos! W
