Karl Blossfeldt

Karl Blossfeldt was a German photographer, sculptor, teacher, and artist who worked in Berlin, Germany. He is best known for his close-up photographs of plants and living things, published in 1929. He was inspired by nature and the way in which plants grow. Blossfeldt made many of his photographs with a homemade camera that could magnify the subject up to thirty times its size, revealing details within a plant's natural structure.

The first image I took was with a standard 18-55mm lens. The second and closer image was done with a 40mm macro lens which allowed me to take a much more detailed and close photograph than the 18-55mm lens.

ISO : 200 f/8 Exposure time : 1/60 seconds

ISO : 400 f/9 Exposure time : 1/10 seconds

When I edited these images I only used the black and white effect on Photoshop as I didn't think anything else needed to be done. They were both taken with the plant on top of a sheet of white paper with no artificial lighting.
