Special Education Lawyer Karen Haase is a principal in the law firm of KSB School Law, where she focuses her practice exclusively on representing public school districts and related entities. Prior to attending law school, Karen taught at both the high school and post-secondary level. Kari Oyen, Ph.D, NCSP Jennifer Cooper, Ph.D, NCSP Dr. Oyen is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology for the University of South Dakota. Dr. Oyen is the Co-Chair of the NASP Government Professional Relations Committee. She is looked to as a national advocate for the role of rural school psychologists. Jennifer Cooper will be joining the faculty of the School Psychology program at UMass Amherst in fall 2019. She previously served as an Assistant Professor and Co-Program Director of the School Psychology program at National Louis University in Chicago, IL. Her primary research and teaching interests focus on meeting the social- emotional needs of youth in schools, evidence-based mental health and behavior practices in schools, and training issues related to advocacy/social justice in school psychology.
