The Legendary Kali Bharat Yatra TourCelebrates its 30th Anniversary in 2013

Tour DirectorRamesh D Kalicharran is soconfident that he has helpedto establish a travel institu-tion, the Kali Bharat YatraTour, that he does not nec-essarily have to travel withYatrans anymore to reas-sure them of comfort,safety, and high quality en-tertainment. He feels thatthe tours are so well organ-ized and planned that hecan appoint a Yatran fromamong his tour party toserve as group leader. Group B’sLeader was LeelowtieRambajohn (Lee) went toDubai and South India.That tour included: Cochin,also known as the “Queensof Arabian Sea. Madurai –the Meenakshi Temple, a

superb example of theDavida School of Architec-ture. Rameshwaram – Amajor pilgrimage center forboth Shiavites and Vasih-navaites, and here is whereLord Rama worshippedLord Shiva after the waragainst Ravana. Kanyaku-mari – Kanyakumari Tem-ple is dedicated to Parvatias Devi Kanya. They vis-ited Swami VivekanandaMemorial Rock on the Sea.Allepey – Enjoying a cruisein Houseboat on the Back-waters of Kerala, Goa –miles of silvery beaches.Mumbai (Bombay) – theBollywood of India. According to Lee the en-

tire group had a remarkabletime, except that everyonewanted a little more of Goa.“Needless to say, the camel

ride at the Safari was reallyenjoyable. Parasram saidthe belly dance was fasci-nating.” Group C went to North

and South India. They vis-ited the Golden Triangleand Ayodhya, the birthplaceof Lord Ram, as well as,Lucknow the City ofNawabs. That group wasled by Pt. Mochan Per-saud, the Priest in charge ofVighneshwar Mandir. Group D that consisted

of the Sookram Familytraveled to North Indiaand Nepal. They thoughtthat the tour to Mount Ever-est was awesome.Sookram’s daughter, Esh-wattie, really had fun withthe colors at the Holi cele-bration in Jaipur, Rajasthan.The highlight of the 30th

anniversary Bharat YatraTours was that all four tourparties comprising 60 Ya-trans rendezvous at Jaipuron March 28th and cele-brated Holi at the GardenCourt of Jaipur Kothi/Her-itage Haveli. This site wasinaugurated by Mr. RameshD. Kalicharran during theSeeta Panday tour to Indialast Diwali. Here are some com-

Seroj was very good and re-sponsible. The Ganges wasvery inviting, the dip in theGanges is still lingering inmy mind; the boat ride atUdaipur is unforgettableand the farewell was excep-tionally great. I am glad Iwent.”

Diawantee Ramsuchit(Seroj) explained, “I wentto India a few times withKali Bharat Yatra, and al-though I visited most of theplaces, yet visiting India isalways so refreshing. Thistime as the Group Leader Ienjoyed it, even though itwas quite a responsibilitythat Kali-ji had bestowedupon me. I must thank himfor that. From my observa-tion everyone is different,everyone has different in-

terest in India. But collec-tively they all had a greattime. What was excitingwas that all four groups metin Jaipur to celebrate Holi.”Seroj noted: “As I ar-

rived in Delhi walking to-wards the coach, I wasshocked when one of theYatrans pointed out a blownup photo of myself, butthen I learned later thatKali-ji always have sur-prises.”

Kailash Shankarstated, “I had the most en-joyable time in India.Firstly, I must complimentKali-ji for giving SunilBhardwaj to us as a tourguide and Bajrang as thedriver. They were very nice.Dilip Sirwani is a great guyand his brother Suresh is

equally good; he’s lots offun. My wife and I aregoing back with Kali Travelfor Diwali 2014.”

Rohani Sookraj said,“The tour itself was excel-lent, but I mistakenlythought it was going to bemore religious.”It should be pointed out

I enjoyed the Phag-wah and all the beautifulsightseeing. I did not dotoo much shopping as thatwas not my priority. I wentto see and discover thewonders of India with theteam moving us in andaround India. We could notask for more; they are verygood and honest. We werespoiled with the hospitalityfrom the first hotel in Delhi

(the Country Inn Suites).The food was great with alarge array of about 50 dif-ferent kinds of dishes. Thedestination was beautiful.My money was well spent,I got a lot for my money’sworth. I recommend KaliTravel to anyone. At theGanges, it’s was breath-tak-ing. What was phenomenalwas that we went for GangaAartie and I felt blessed asI was the only one called tosit and participate in theHawan at Parmarth Nike-tan. After Aartie the TourGuide and I mixed andmingled with the childrenof the Ashram and togethersang “Holi Khele Regub-heer…”.

Daniel Tikalall said thatthe tour was very good, thehotel was great, the histori-cal buildings were fine. Wegained a lot, saw a lot. Wesaw what the position waslike when our foreparentsleft India to go to Guyanaand other places in theCaribbean. I feel very for-tunate to visit India. Atfirst, I felt the driving inIndia is very confusing. Istill don’t know how theydo it, but we were safe. Onething I must say is that Ithought Mr. Kali is popularin New York, but to me heis more popular in India;every place we go his nameis mentioned and lots ofpeople know him. Al-though my foot is not too

well, still I danced with thepeople; I just could not re-sist the rhythm. The hotelswere great, food top class,veg & non-veg & fresh.The Ganges at Rishikeshwere extraordinary scenes.Thanks to Kali-ji for organ-izing such a magnificenttour.”

Deonauth & HulasieRamsubhag originallyfrom Trinidad said they hada great time; it was very ed-ucational and emotional atthe same time. WhenEileen Singh was askedhow was the trip, shereplied, “The trip wasgood.”

Kamlawatie Sukhusaid that the tour was ex-cellent. “I enjoyed everymoment of it. IncludingHoli Celebration. Mr. Kaliarranged the tour in such amanner that all the 60 Ya-trans met at Jaipur to cele-brate Holi together. Whatwas amazing too was that Idiscovered one of my rela-tives from the other group.I brought home Gangeswater.”

Jaiastri Zahiruddinsaid the tour was great &Kali-ji and staff had to dolots of planning to make itso well organized. Since Ileft Guyana this was thebest Holi I ever spent. Foodwas great; there was goodmusic and an excitingfarewell dinner. I have tosee more of India. Once is

(Kamal) said, “going onthe tour, I didn’t know whatto expect, but it turned outto be beyond my expecta-tions.”I celebrated Phag-wah in Guyana and in NewYork but our celebration inJaipur was the greatest. Theservice and food wereawesome. Above all, Sunilwas really great. I did notexpect so much entertain-ment. I don’t know howKali-ji does it, he is verypopular in India and be-cause of his popularity assoon as the shopkeeper rec-ognized us as “The KaliGroup,” we get discountsautomatically. I was happyto see Mr. Kali counterpart,Mr. Dilip Sirwani of Ra-jasthan Travel Service(RTS). He provided a spe-cial cake celebrating 30years of “Kali BharatYatra.” At the farewell din-ner there was a live band,which was awesome. Wedanced and really enjoyedourselves.
