So many times when looking at a company’s claim you have to ask yourself “Is this real or is this just salesman speak?” So let us tell you about our technologies and you can make your own decision:

A helmet has two essential elements that help protect you: a shell and energy absorbing foam. These two components dissipate the energy of an impact to your head. The shell, or the hard outer surface of a helmet, and has 3 functions. First, it prevents sharp object penetration. Second, it protects the energy absorbing foam from abrasion, and lastly, it spreads out the force of an impact over a greater area.

As the second component of the puzzle, the energy absorbing foam is the muscle of a helmet and the more active of the two. The foam does the bulk of the work, cushioningand redirecting the G-forces of any impact making its way towards your head.

Standard helmet technology constructs the shell and the energy absorbing foam com-posite or EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) as two separate pieces.A helmet is typically constructed by shooting small beads into a mold. The shaped EPS is then pulled from the mold and spot glued to taped inside the helmet shell which is molded separately. This means that during an impact there will actually be a gap on the G-force, a micro- second where the energy is transferred between one protective material, the shell, and the next, the EPS foam. The result of this separate-but-glued-construction is a less efficient transfer of energy when a helmet is impacted.

Our patented COMPOSITE FUSIONTM technology incorporates the EPS foam as an integral part of the shell. With this technology, our EPS foam is formed inside the exterior shell meaning no separation in molding. As the small beads expand during the steaming process, they are directly fused with the exterior shell itself (no spot glue or tape is needed).

The introduction of COMPOSITE FUSIONTM Plus is the next progression of this revolutio-nary construction. COMPOSITE FUSIONTM Plus technology incorporates unique pyramids of different foam densities within the EPS. During impact, as energy is transferred from shell to foam, the unique pyramid shapes collapse first, thereby directing the energysideways within the foam, instead of linearly down to your head. This spreads theimpact load over a greater area, allowing us to use softer density foam next to your head, right where you want it.

Patented Composite FusionTM technology incorporates the energy absorbing EPS foam as an integral part of the shell. Our EPS foam is formed inside the exterior shell and not in a

separate mold. As the small EPS beads expand during the steaming process, they aredirectly fused with the exterior shell itself (no spot glue or tape needed).

This is important because now, without a gap or requiring a third party bonding agent,the impact energy can be transferred to the EPS foam more efficiently, allowing for

a stronger materials connection.

Taking Composite FusionTM technology a step further, Kali’s Composite Fusion PlusTM

technology has the same super tight connection but also incorporates a special impact foam design. Using geometric shapes of different density inside the foam, the Composite Fusion Plus design further helps dissipate the shock forces as they travel through the foam.

The way in which a composite helmet absorbs the energyof an impact is much more fluid than a traditional helmet.

The smooth curve provides constant impact dissipation thoughthe super tight shell/foam connection, reducing energy spikes.

SUPERVENT™ technology provides reinforced a super-structure to critical airfl ow vents. SUPERVENT™ technology is born of the commitment to provide ventilation while minimizing structural weakness.A special skeletal material reinforces the design of key vents to provide addi-tional reinforcement in the case of an impact. This allows large, super functio-nal airfl ow will minimizing risk of penetration during impact.

The DUAL CLOSURE System allows a simple and effi cient dual-sided closure adjustment at the rear of the helmet. This closure system is featured on the MARAKA™, the AVANA™ and the AVITA™.

The BUMPER FIT™ System assures a secure fi t with special pads designed of an absorbent cross-linked polymer material. These materials are designed to both secure the helmet’s fi t while also adding shock absorbing properties in the event of an impact.
