RaceControlTheCaliforniaHighwayPatrolhasorganizedthetrafficandracecontrolarounda“rollingclosure”onthecourse.Forthefirst12.5milesofthecourse,theroadwillbeclosedtoalltraffic.Fortheremainingmilesoftherace,thesouthboundlanewillbeclosedforrunners.Thenorthboundlanewillbeavailableforemergencyuseonly.Spectatorcarsarenotallowedontheracecourse.
AidStationsThereare13aidstationsonthecourse.Clifproductwillbedistributedataidstation13.9and18.4.MedicalStaffwillbepresentataidstationsstartingatmile9. Themarathondoesnotprovideanalgesicsalongthecourseoratthefinishline.
Eachaidstationwillbeuniformintheapproachforfluids.1. Gatorade2. Water3. Specialfluidsthathavebeenidentifiedforthataidstation
BringYourOwnBottleLessenyourimpactontheenvironmentbybringingyourownbottle.Youhelpcreatelesswasteandlittlerwhenyourefillyourbottleatanyoftherefuelingstationsalongthecourse.
AgriculturalAreaHelpuspreservethebeautyoftheNapaValleybyrefrainingfromlitteringoutsideofaidstationsandusingthereceptaclesprovidedateachmilemarkeralongthecourseroute.Packagingfromfuelpacketsisdifficulttoremoveandisharmfulwhenitdriftsintonearbyfieldsandstreams.
BostonQualifierThecourseisacertifiedBostonQualifiercourse.Runnerswillbequalifiedforthe2017race.
PacingandUnofficialRunnersPacingisn’tallowedaccordingtotheUSATFrulesofcompetition. ThiseventissanctionedbytheUSATFandistheRRCAWesternRegionalChampionship.Therearetworefereesoncourseonthedayoftheevent. Bibsmustbepresentonthefrontofyourbodytobequalifiedasanofficialrunneroftherace.Unofficialrunnersorracebanditsarenotpermittedonthecourseandwillbeaskedtoexitbyoneofouroncoursemarshals.Banditspresentaliabilityandsafetyissue,aswellasadisservicetothosewhohavepaidtheirentryfee.
SagVanIfyoubecomeinjuredorcannotfinishthe race,therearetwosagvansalongthe coursetotransportyoutothefinishline.

GymBagpickupandpost-racemassageisavailableinthemaingymoffthequadandshowersareavailableinthelockerrooms.Bagscanbepickedupbypresentingyourracebibtoagymvolunteer.
AwardsThetopMaleandFemalewinnerwillbepresentedtheirweightinwineplusanetchedmagnumofwineatthe12:30pmawardsceremony.TheNapaValleyMarathonisnotresponsibleforshippinganyawardedwine.TheCeremonywillbelocatedinthecenterofthequad(weatherpermitting)orwillbelocatedintheGymduringinclementweather.ThetopMaleandFemaleMastersrunnerwillalsobepresentedanetched3literofpremiumNapaValleywine.Allotherawardswillbemailedtothe awardwinnersaftertherace.
ShuttlesAftertheRaceShuttlestotheselectedhotelsareprovidedaftertherace.TheselectedhotelsareNapaValleyMarriott,RiverTerraceInn,HiltonGardenInn,EmbassySuitesandWestinVerasa.IfyoustayedinCalistoga,thereisapublicbus,VINE10thattravelsfromNapatoCalistogaeveryhour.RunnerstakingthepublicbustoCalistogashouldhopontheshuttletotheMarriottfirstthenwalkacrossthestreettotheVinebusstation.
DiscardedClothingTheNapaValleyMarathonwillhaveadiscardeditemsandclothingsiteatthestartoftherace.Anyitemsdiscarded,willbecleanedanddonatedtoalocalcharity.
