Start from scratch and give reality to your dreams, the events under Ab Initio test a budding engineer'smettle. From knowledge to thinking out-of-the-box ability, all will be required to be the best among thebest in the events stated under Ab Initio. The first event is "Laws of Motion". A participant is given aproblem which is essentially designing a aircraft which satisfies the requisite conditions of height barrier and

loading de-loading functions. The second is "Nirmaan" which always sees a huge participation. Thestructural engineering related problem statement is given along with materials and the participant isexpected to design the structure under the given constraints of time, space and materials. Nirmaan is alwayssuccessful in producing fabulous winning entries. The last and arguably the most anticipated one is"Nightshift". Inspired by the hit 'Junkyard Wars' on The Discovery Channel, this event runs on a ten hour

nocturnal shift (hence the name) where teams fight against low power, limited resources to build the meanest and coolest machines. With huge prizes and alot of respect on stake, Ab Initio is indeed one of the highlights of Kshitij.
