D-CONNNNNNN. Ifyou dont know aboutthe EPICNESS these twosyllables encompass, youreseriously missing out. BUTNO WORRIES! District

CONvention is an annualevent put on for all the CircleK clubs in the Cal-Nev-HaDistrict so itll still be here nextyear for you! For three daysand two nights, colleges fromall over California, Nevada, and Hawaii come togetherand all the awesomeness thatis Circle K is concentrated inONE AREA.

During the whole weekend, you are surrounded by

people who exemplify theprinciples of Circle K: Service,Leadership, and Fellowship. No one is an exception. Youare constantly forming newfriendships with membersfrom other schools. Everyoneis so nice and approachable;being social is effortless.General session and caucusseem like a pain to go to, butwhen you sit down and give

your attention to the personwho is speaking, you canthelp but admire them becausethats what a real leader looksand acts like, standing infront all these people but stillkeeping that confdent swagin their voice. And, needlessto say, everyone in Circle Kis primarily united by a love

for community service, agenuine desire to make theworld around them a betterplace. Honestly, I have notdone a lot of service; I mean,I struggled for Bronze MRPStanding! However, goingto DCON has defnitelymotivated me to try harder. If so many people around mecan balance classes and canstill accumulate hundredsof hours of service, whatsmy excuse? It is completelyinspiring how much CircleK-ers do for the community.

Almost three weeks later,I am STILL on a post-DCONhigh. The general sessions, the caucuses, the workshops, the entertainment, the spiritcompetitions Moneyaint a thing when it comesto DCON, because theknowledge you obtain, the

friendships you make, andthe memories you create areabsolutely priceless. Truthbe told, before attendingDCON, I was planning for ito be my frst and last DCONbut ooh my gosh. Im alreadyexcited for DCON next yearAnd I want more Circle K inmy life!

You receive such a goodinsight and understandingof what the organizationis about at DCON becauseyou get to experience frst-hand with the help of all theoutstanding people aroundyou. It is really the ONE eventthat I feel all members shouldconsider going to regardlessof how active you have beenin the past year. DCON hashelped me truly appreciateCircle K for the amazingstudent-run organization iis, and it has made me fall inlove with the club more thanI had already started to in thepast two months. So, considergoing next year because asexaggerated or corny as thissounds, DCON does havethe potential to change yourlife in a positive way as it hasmine
