ABOUT JYNWEL CHARITABLE FOUNDATION DISRUPTIVE PHILANTHROPY

Jynwel Charitable Foundation Limited (“Jynwel Foundation”) is the philanthropic initiative of Jynwel Capital, an international investment and advisory firm. Jynwel represents the third generation of the Low Family business and philanthropy. Jynwel Foundation is built on the Low Family’s heritage & vision for investing in society, and seeks to fund breakthrough programs that are working to solve the world’s toughest problems in global health, education, and conservation.

Low Meng Tak, the grandfather of Mr Jho Low and Mr Szen Low, migrated from China to Malaysia and Thailand in the 1940’s. He started successful businesses in alcohol distilleries and mining, generating substantial wealth. While a successful businessman, Low Meng Tak taught his children and grandchildren the importance of giving, and fostered strong philanthropic values within the family. Jho Low and Szen Low established Jynwel Foundation in 2012 to put these values into action for the current generation and beyond. Jynwel Foundation institutionalizes the Low Family’s social investments, and builds on the multi-generational legacy of the Low Family’s philanthropy to think big, and invest in the long-term to create extensive social value over time.

OUR VISION: OUR HISTORY: OUR PHASED APPROACH

DISRUPTIVE PHILANTHROPY

DIG DEEP

We tackle the biggest issues by researching and connecting with expertsuntil we discover and understand the root cause.

COLLABORATIVE DESIGN

We convene partners across sectors and around the world to design the most effective programs. We are motivated by cross continental approaches and funding, especially when we can bring the global North and South together.

THINK VERY LONG-TERM

The world’s most complex challenges cannot be solved in three to five years; we must make commitments spanning 15-30 years – or longer – to drive solutions to the most pressing problems.

INVEST BIG

We invest big and look for the greatest return on social investment. We know our investments are successful when the programs we helped design can be brought to scale globally.

MEASURE TO GROW

We evaluate each program every step of the way and leverage partners who can drive the most progress and impact.
