Lines In The Sand Student Ministry

Dear Church,

As we close out 2018, take a moment to reflect on what God has done for you and your family. I know for my family, 2018 had it's difficult times with the foster care situation that caused us to lose our two precious girls. As painful as that was, the only thing WE could do is grip the hand of God and hope for the best. Scripture tells us in Psalm 30:4-5 "Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning." During those days of confusion, doubtfulness, anger, and self-pity5 I choose JOY to pull me out of that place. You see, nothing that the world has to offer can come close to what our God gives us. So remember, that the joy that God gives comes in the morning and is everlasting.

Parents, just a reminder that on December 31st from 7pm - 7am, our youth will be having their end of the year lock-in. If you would like to help, please bring finger food items and if you could stay for partial or for all of it I would appreciate it.

Continue to pray for the church staff and volunteers as we plan for all of the events for 2019. Church, I love you! Happy New Year!

Dear Church Family,

Happy new year! My, how 2018 passed so quickly! You only have 11 months and 3 weeks left to shop for Christmas! Make a new year’s resolution with me for 2019. Pray about it and commit yourself to lead one person to Christ this year, or at least be a part of the process. That may involve planting, watering, nurturing, or harvesting. So be ministering to people, invite the unchurched to church, Bible study, or to a Life Group study. Make visits and look for opportuni-ties to share the gospel.

Plan to be a part of our January Bible study beginning on Wednesday, January 9, at 6:00 p.m. We will begin with our intercessory prayer time and move into our study each Wednesday evening. This year, we are studying the letters to the seven churches of Asia in Revelation 1-3.

Awana clubs and Life Groups resume on Sunday, January 6, at 5:30 p.m. My group will finish our final two lessons on “Unseen, But Certain,” on heaven. Then we will begin a new study by Dr. Daniel Akin entitled, “The Bible Speaks: The Amazing Doctrines of the Christian Faith.” This is a much needed study today since so many people, even in our churches, are not grounded in major Christian doctrines. It affects the way we live and what we value. It even determines our view of God. We will also look at eschatology in this study. We begin this doctrinal study on Sunday, January 20.

In December we had our annual Christmas party. All the kiddos had a great time! Once again thank you to Ms. Sue for always planning a wonderful party!

I also want to thank all of our volunteers. We are appreciative of the love and time you pour into our children! We could not do this without you!

I am excited for the New Year. There is something about getting a fresh start each year. I look forward to seeing what this year brings to The Ark. I would love to see our rooms filled up! We are grateful to our faithful families that let us love on their children each service! You bless us just as much as we try to bless you!
