A
crosswalk was conducted
of
the
resources (prirne

of firn1s
currently
providing flood mitigation materials in
the
United
States. The crosswalk vas done to
determine \vhich companies could provide the required products and training support
in Baghdad. One
vendor s
product requires construction efforts
(placement of
permanent stanchions) around all potential mitigation1ocations
and
then requires the
use of cranes to place panels bet\veen the stanchions \vhen the Darn breaks.
The
second vendor
currently
does
not have inventory available for deployment and would
have to ramp up production at their plant. The vendor selected
has
inventory
a v a i 1 a b l e ~
is in production for the sizes
of
product needed and can deliver
the
product
within 5 days
of
receipt
of he
Purchase Order.
'n1is determined the request for the sole source acquisition.
