GENERAL MANAGER’S NOTE

2

We made it to the other side of the heaviest snow storm to hit our area in 50 years! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some good old fashioned Pacific Northwest rain! Spring is on the way, so we know it will get warmer eventually, but if you do need a break from the weather, KBTC has you covered with brand new specials to entertain you! Watch for Deepak Chopra’s The Spiritual Laws of Success, Henry Louis Gates, Jr.’s Uncovering America and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Conversation. For the kids, don’t miss Sesame Street: The Magical Wand Chase and Curious George Swings into Spring. I’m excited to tell you about a brand new program we are airing this month that is meant to remind us of what we learned as children watching PBS. It’s called The Power of Radical Kindness with Angela Santomero. Angela is the creator, executive producer, and head writer of many of today’s most popular educational children’s shows including Blue’s Clues and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Inspired by mentor Fred Rogers, beloved host of the classic, award winning PBS show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Angela has dedicated her life to teaching that when you treat yourself and others with warmth, empathy, and respect, life chang-ing benefits follow. This month, you’ll see messages on the air and online asking you what you love about KBTC. I hope that one of the reasons is the information that stays with you long after you’ve changed the channel, content that makes you think, and ideas that help improve your life. If we don’t say it enough, we value YOU, our partners who make the work we do possible! Let’s continue taking care of ourselves and each other so that KBTC can inspire everyone who calls our neighborhood home. DeAnne Hamilton
